Minister Opinion Polls Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations

Should this be implemented?

Once a month, the populace puts up, a nomination thread for each position that would last four days, and then a poll for each position that would be the same as an election. The poll would last 72 hours. Once the polls are done, it would then be up to the Consuls to implement the will of the people. They would still have the option of not doing it.

Full PM-box? Change here!

1. Let's say each month I put up nomination threads for each minister position, like a normal election. It would last four days. Then after the four days are up, I would make a poll for each position, like a normal election, that would last 72 hours. HOWEVER, it isn't an election, but what the Senate wants. The consuls don't have to do it, but it is going against the will of the people.

Option 2 works for me. This is a nice way to gage how the Senate feels the mininster in question is doing. It may also lead to us replacing idle mininsters.

However, I have no objections to either option.

Abstain. Either works, though I suspect 1 will see a lot of 1-candidate brackets.

Do the Ministers stay in Office for more than a month?

Please dont tell me we are "electing" ministers every month.

If this is what we are doing then Im against this.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much possible turnover.

Got spare money?

Three months is a good term, though it should be added that such a system would also be in place in the event of a sudden retirement/disappearence of a sitting minister, time permitting. In such a case, the new minister would serve out the old term.

It should also likely be noted that, in the event of a sudden disappearence, the consuls should reserve the right to make appointments without consulting the Senate, should an emergency warrant such fast action. Of course, the probability of that happening is slim.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Option two. NM, perhaps you should discuss the text for the options in the discussion thread, makes the cathegory Abstain a bit smaller. I think that explicitly adding the 1 month / 3 months to the texts would have helped a lot. Still you did a good job

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

I can live with a three month term as long as like OCT_X said the consuls can appoint someone if a minister disappears.

I still prefer the current system, because a constant rotation of people just makes me nervous for long term continuity.

Although I do agree with Klo's sentiments that the possibility of that occuring is slim.

So I guess if we decide to do that, it will be OK with me (elections that is)

If absatin wins that means IMHO that not enough people care about this issue to take it any further.

At least thats my take on an "abstain" victory.

Quite often many abstain votes means that there are a number who disagree with all the options given. However, since the status quo is upheld with the option of "Neither of them", they are people who just don't care, I guess.

* MrWhereItsAt wishes everyone cared a little more

I received a PM from Nuclear Master regarding my absence from the forum lately. I acknowledge that I have not been active the last couple of weeks. RL is busy these days - and the limited Poly time I have had has been dedicated to the survival of the Simians - and my pbems. I have not been around much to fulfill my responsibilities as FAM.

My apologies to the consuls and the team. Whatever is best for the team is fine by me.
