You could see it as a padlock, I guees. I've always thought of it more like the 16 tonnes weight that used to fall on people in Monty Python's Flying Circus. That too used to shut'em up.
BTW, good luck avoiding further flaming in that thread. I did notice he put a laughing smiley in the subject line, so maybe it'll solve itself quietly.
