Today, Noosland Commission on Space Exploration announced a series of activities to commemorate the 20th anniversity of the first successful manned mission to Mars, conducted jointly with Akira and marijuana.

Activities will include international academic conferences, exhibitions, space exploration missions, and more.

All countries are invited to attend.

How time flies!

Noosland launched a probe with a CAE (constant acceleration engine), otherwise known as an ion drive, to Alpha Centauri . It will take severl more years yet for it to arrive. Ceroo Academics are cordially invited to the training camp for launch due in 3 months.

Auldoninna Spacy Agency (ASA) is currently planning a space station to be launched hopefuly in 5 years time. This will hopefully become a launching base for further exploration.

So, what's the schedule?

Iguana Fire, while not sending an official governmental representative, has authorized the travels of several of its major engineering and manufacturing corporations.

In addition, several University research scientists have petitioned their corporations for travel funding.

Among those attending the conference will be:

Or you could join in the efforts of the Apolyton Space Station (ASS ), now in its forth incarnation. We have things like zero-g and radiation labs, semi-permanent habitats, automated manufacturing facilities, deep space observatories, solar observatories, meteorological monitoring stations, and launch platforms.

The sky-space above Apolyton may be a bit treacherous, what with all the orbital space 1337-NUXX0R platforms, orbiting instant-deploy-just-add-water biobombs and the like.

OOC: Are orbital weapons legit in Apolyton?

I don't think so. Seeing that we have at least a couple of decades of headstart on you (in game time), if space based weapons were allowed hostile nations wouldn't have any. They'd all blasted out of space.

Of course everybody else would know it's an orbital weapon. It's not difficult to tell a normal sat from other sats. As for a war, think about this. If I had orbital weapon platforms, would you really attack me?

Well, it would have to depend on what kind of weapons it had. If they were just a few space-mounted machine-guns for shooting down other satellites, all it would need would be a few missiles or an EMP blast, and it's out. If, on the other hand, it's a fully-fledged battle station, complete with nukes, armour, etc, one would probably think twice.

ooc: you mean someone building the DEATH STAR !!!

IC: Auldoninna continues its Shuttle Services to the Construction site of its New Space Station. Living Quarters and general ameniteis are almost complete. Once these are done we will move the whole labour department up there to continue the work.

Apart from minor self defence weopons the space station at this time wil lnot be an offencive one.

Ceroo Astronauts on our next shuttle out will be partakig on an ispection to ensure world happiness.

Today another module is added to the Apolyton Space Station, another automated manufacturing section. All the modules are armoured against minor meteor impacts, with laser defenses against larger meteors.
