The Issue
Scientists using cloned human embryos for research are on the verge of a medical breakthrough.

The Debate
"It's really very exciting," says lab head Gregory Washington. "Until now, we've kept very quiet, to avoid being targeted by lunatic fringe groups who for some reason think it's wrong to clone human embryos. It's too early to promise anything, but we hope that one day we will have genetic cures for a whole range of debilitating illnesses. I certainly hope the government will support our work."

Look at how hard it was to make a cloned mouse or sheep that was a viable organism. Like Dolly, they all die young and have strange health problems.

Not that it matters any. A clone grows as fast as any regular humans, so it doesn't help. Unless, of course, he got a birth rate problem...

no i never claimed that at all.

it was first metnioned in my own thread in discussions of what was happening... i never ocne claimed we had an army of them ..

Depends what experimentation you referring to, but basically if it going to save lives i all for it,, the life of a few for the life of many so to speak....

What about on human vegetables (the brain-dead)?
Would it be acceptable to conduct potentially hazardous tests to check the effectiveness of particular antidotes?
