civman2000's Maps of the World Thread Tired of ads?

I've finally gotten around to making a map like the one I made for the PTW ISDG. Feel free to comment or make suggestions; I'm especially open to suggestions concerning the naming of regions.

civman2000's Political Map of Atlantia v1.1:
Full version
Smaller version:

History/Changes:
1.1>1.2:
Zarenguya, The Warning, and Gulf of Mexico added.
Exploration in Baltic Sea, Scandinavia, America (1675 BC).
1>1.1:
Turkey>Sicily, island
Hungary>Italy
Poland>Germany
Germany>Poland
North Sea>Baltic Sea
Baltic Sea>North Sea
Aegean Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Black Sea removed
Strait of Messina, Adriatic Sea, Aegean Sea, France added.
Exploration in America added (1910 BC).

Um, there's no Turkey. That coastline from the Aegean Sea to the Black sea is a continual coast. There is, however, a large island to our Northwest, but there's no land connection to it.

That island may have caused the confusion.

"turkey" is an island.
I would get rid of the names, just stick with the civs and their regions. No europe, no america, etc. Just my suggestion.

Nice map.

Nice map.

Ah, the strait between the island and the mainland was obscured by the scores in the screenie I used. That should be fixed in the next version (which I'll probably make after the next turn is played).

Call the island "Italy" then.
Change "Hungary" to "France".
Change "Germany" to "Hungary".
Change "Poland" to "Germany".
Change "Baltic Sea" to "North Sea".
Change "Black Sea" to "Mediterranean Sea".

It'll be just like the map of Europe rotated 90 degrees.

The island could be Cyprus, or Crete if we get to it first. Or Malta if it's worthlessly small.

Good ideas! I don't think I'll call the island Italy (given that it is an island) but I think I'll use most or all of the others.

Can you mark "Meeting Mountain"?

Its a lone mountain in the middle with a wheat resource at three of it.

It is where we met PAL, and we refer to it quite frequently in chats with PAL and also in the threads.

Its somewhere inbetween Eorope, Poland and Hungary.

Thanks

Put an end to popups!

HEY! Where is the EMPIRE OF THE NETHERLANDS?!

Nice work Civman. You fcould call the island Crete, depending on how large it is, or Turkey or Italy, they are both nearly islands.

Since it's to the "west" of us (after rotation), call the island Sicily.

Very nice! The sea north of us can be the Ionian Sea. The one west of PAL would then be the Mediterranean Sea.

I might do the Ionian Sea (though that area is already pretty crowded with labels), but I want to reserve the area around PAL for American region names to be chosen once we have a better idea of the shape of their land.

Civman, can you eventually mark "Meeting Mountain", it has significant geopolitical implications in this game, and will eventually mark the border between PAL and Apoly.
