To my great shame, embarrassment and disgrace I screwed up somehow on the lux slider last turn and allowed 4 towns to slip into disorder.

I would happily dive into the Snake River and never be seen again as a result of this, and will gratefully hand over the wheel of turnplay immediately if there is anyone who can relieve me.

Full PM-box? Change here!

In fact, we only need to lose one city to disorder (CoS), the rest can be rescued by F1 and setting scientists. Izz loses its 5fpt and one of the archer cities can't make 10spt but we still get 2 archers this turn.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

It's ok, it was probably war weariness kicking in. I'm not sure it was you fault at all.

Sorry I haven't been more active, Cort, I really am. Like I just told Theseus via PM (about GS), I'm totally exhausted. Our new dog, Toby, is a handful. He's wearing us out and driving us nuts. This morning, for example, he decided that 5:30 was a good time to wake up and begin barking. He barked for a good 1/2 straight, paused for 10 minutes, and then fired it right back up again until we got up around 6:30. And he's LOUD. And that's not even the half of it.

In fact we don't lose the +5f in Izz as that's already been added this turn.

I remember NYE mentioning something about WW only showing up pre-turn if you jiggle the lux slider at the end of the turn. I think he said it in the ISDG forum... anyway, if I understood correctly, that would mean that each turn, right before saving & sending, we should jig the lux slider up a notch and back down and make sure we're not going to have disorder.

I expect bouncy dogs are very demanding. I'm not a dog person myself, they're too in-yer-face for me. I prefer cats - for all the reasons Eddie describes.

I'm a dog lover, and this one is trying my patience. He has some behavioral issues that need to stop, or he's going back. We got him from a "rescue" organization, you see - his original owner gave him up. He's 15 months old, just about totally untrained, and has an unfortunate tendency to freak out around other dogs and sometimes humans. It's that last bit that is unacceptable. Anyway, to make a long story short & readable, we have him signed up for obedience classes which start on June 24th. If those don't straighten him out, he goes.

It's really pretty frustrating. He's the strangest Lab I've ever met. Labs love people and other dogs. Normally they do, anyway. This one is just odd. I don't know exactly how the prior owner treated him, but it just seems like he wasn't raised to be a pet.

Remember what Eddie said about the monkey in France? "...the monkey would **** off. He was a cheeky monkey!" That's what Toby will do when he's off his leash. He wanders off to do his own thing, and doesn't appear particularly concerned about listening to us at all. He's not running away from us, he's just not really giving two shits about us either. Hence, no letting him off the leash. Inside he gets into trouble... he seems bored, but even when I try to play with him (indoor fetch is fun - odd bounces and all that), he wanders off after a little while.

Doh, that wasn't short at all. I'm a bit caught up in this, you see...

Being a dog person, I'm sure you know this already, but Labs get bored more easily than some breeds and when bored, they get into trouble.
Somehow, I got lucky with my Lab-Chow mix - she's never eaten a single shoe that I didn't actually give to her. She's awful jealous of the baby(well, toddler now), but she's never been a fetcher and I just don't have the energy or speed to "play rough" any more. Maybe once every month or two. So we jog and I buy her lots and lots of toys to tear up.

Cort - we all do it, and we all feel rotten afterwards. And the damage wasn't that bad, so no worries.

This is why I love fish.
You don't have to walk them out at 6am...
You don't have to walk them out at 10pm in winter...
They don't smell when it rains outside...
They don't bark...
They don't eat shoes or other fancy things...
They don't pis* on the carpet (or worse)...
They don't eat a pound of meat a day...
You don't have to buy a bigger car to accomodate them...
You can go on holiday for up to 2 weeks without taking care of them...
People are all aah's and ooh's when they see them...
Toys are for children only...

Hey, cats are fine with all of the points above (except number 9, but they can feed themselves for all I care)

OT: Did you lot know that the MASTers had palace jumped to Temple mount? I noticed it a while a go, but forgot to mention it; that is why there is ruble in the middle of their land.

I was also wondering why We have not recieved and diplo messages. I know that ths game is no where as fast as the PTWDG, but a fortnight with no replies?

Put an end to popups!

For anyone who cares, an quick update on the dog situation:

Improvement, finally!

He has been better. He's barking less, freaking out less, walking better on the leash, etc. This past weekend went very well. Formal training classes begin soon, too, which should help even more.

As a result, I'm no longer totally exhausted all the time, although I still spend most of my free time at home either walking, playing with or otherwise dealing with the dog. My demogame activity will remain low, at least w/regard to playing saves and whatnot. But I *will* try and make myself useful during downtimes at work. Like PMing other teams and working out our palace jump.

If one of you has time to post a zoomed-out screenshot of the southwest (the area we are still settling, and where our new capital will eventually be), I would appreciate it. That way I can double-check the planned city sites and then set about planning the palace jump.
