	Palace Improvement Put an end to popups!

Does improving your palace actually increase it's culture? I just figured it was nice feature, but I've never checked whether it does actually add culture points?

Nah, the idea of the Palace is that you have it how you want it, not to end up with a gaudy mess that some arty type likes.

Am I right in thinking this feature was removed from Conquests?

I think it’s still there. That said, I know that if you mod the rules in the editor, the improve palace option doesn’t come up during play, which is a bit silly.

That would explain it - I always play with an edited game as I always have corruption set at about 40%, due to the fact I like epic style games.

Hmmm, thats interesting I modded the rules and I do get the throne room improvement screen. I noticed though my completed games dont appear in the Hall of fame.

Completed games? Havnt completed one since I got conquests! I get to the point where its a foregone conclusion and move to the next game.

Ya, any games with modified rules (conquests, scenarios) do not show up on the HOF.

I hate this palace improvement also... it doesn't really give any options, and if you mix two styles, it just ends up ugly...

Ugly is what I generally shoot for. It scares the AI and keeps looters away.

psumbody was probably confusing CivII and CivIII - the former does have a throne room in lieu of the palace improvement screen.

Your right it is the Palace, but I still consider the screen the same concept as the throne room improvement screen.
