1950BC to the Apes

While strolling through one of our magnificent beaches one of our settlers discovered this lost piece of a much bigger structure: (attached)

Underneath the sand on the edges we also found many a treasure hidden. We decided to name our capital based on our findings. Even though we are certain that we are the only ones living in this vast world we have initiated a long term exploring campaign to recover more of these hidden treasures since they are so coveted by our people, the apes.

Diary stuffed in a bottle and tossed towards the sea. It has been a habit of ours to toss it back to the sea ever since it came to us with the words " Moonbareans" inscribed on it along with a nice fiction tale of highly developed civilization. We believe it's one of our small chimps being pranksters.

Okay I've played and sent to Chrisius, and it matches Conqueror's image, but I'm sure this was the first game I sent. I know because I popped a goodie hut with a settler, and the second time I popped it it gave me something different to what I have now..

[OC] It is amazing how it's easy to detect what people are doing early on based on score and city ranks. Something new to me [/OC]

1900 BC - All is well and scouts are doing their jobs. Our workers have started to contribute to our prosperous civilization and this should be going into the chimp's history books. Once more that much odd diary has returned to our shores. In fear of revealing all the secrets I keep well hidden and locked within me. I have also built a small cabin where it's been spotted so that I may be the first to read it. Today it mentions the resurgence of a extraordinarily grand city within the borders of the so called Moonbareans nation. As of yet my reasearching the sacred scrolls have not been very helpful in understanding all these signs. I may have to stop by the shrine and ask the Grand Ape for guidance.

ps: Silly me, so what if my citizens find this diary? If I recall correctly I'm the only monkey able to read around these parts.

I'm sorry to have to announce that my computer's power source has just presented some very serious malfunctions which renders my ability to use the computer very unstable. I will be trying to get a new one as soon as I can, until then I will try to make the computer work but it may not always work. I expect it to take a week for me to get the new power source and if I can't by that time I'll take civ over to my friend's house and play a turn a day from there. I hope you all understand (btw: this seems to be a bit slow eh?) I shall be taking care of this problem ASAP.

Nothing much has changed. Still scouting with the boldest of apes. Not much intelligent life has been found outside our premises. Besides, I slipped in one of my bananas peels today.....Darn. Now, on to the shores. *Splash*

Khannal, you sent me the wrong save - you sent me the save that Moonbars sent you.

So as I strongly suspected, we are playing the wrong version.

I have now sent the correct save to Chrisius, unfortunately we have to start again from 3950 BC!

I'm around at 10pm tonight for some rapid fire turns.

Yes, I saw that too Andy, but since conqueror said he changed I thought he did change but only the scores list. In any event I think you (due to some detail you have memorized) might have more basis to judge. I'm up for playing again, since I have made the very same moves I did in the old version I wouldn't know the difference. Also, with those possible rapid fire turns it must go faster even so.

Are you sure Andy, I thought Conqueror meant on the drop down list showing scores in game, at least thats what I think he said !!


And I know for a fact that I sent the correct save to Krill the second time around !!

Its not a surprise that you had the same things happen when you played before, the game is exactly the same except for the addittion of one saltpeter resource, so the seed would be identical.

I will wait some confirmation first before we keep going around the mountain with this, Im sure we are playing the correct game already.

I'm sure we're playing the wrong save Chrisius. The first incorrect game had a goodie hut give me a free tech. The second correct game had the same goodie hut give me something different. The game we're playing now, I have that free tech, therefore must be wrong.

um. should not be hard to check. compare to this picture again. if there reads "Swiss alias Apes" next to Khannalx name, its the WRONG version.

and, btw, there should not be "Swiss alias apes" in the password screen. if there is, its the WRONG version.

also, Charisius has easy way to check if the version is right or wrong. in the WRONG version, there reads something else next to his name, and "Clans" in the RIGHT version.

hope its now clear enough i'll attach the RIGHT picture again. easy to alt+tab during turn and verify.

Well Im not so sure myself Andy, if the preserve seed is off then that could account for the difference you mention, but as were only a few turns in and for peace of mind all round Ill play with the save you sent earlier and start again Ill do this right now and send to Krill just after

3950BC to Krill once more I hope

..and we definitely aren't seeing that.

Furthermore, Khannal's password screen is wrong.

Chrisius, Preserve Random Seed is on because whenever I play the wrong version, the hut always pops me a tech. When I play the right version, the hut always pops me the same something else.

Lets restart from the 2950BC save I sent you yesterday and get on with this game!
