Krill seems to have vanished again without a trace. Internet problems, I imagine, because he gave no warning.

LSANS.fot is for the text of civ3, if you don't have it in your folder it will give you an error and exit.

Hmm. Windows Explorer does things like that. For me, it opens the same folder every time i reboot my computer, even if i close it, and doesn't open any other folders automatically, even though i open them.

I think it has to do with Active Desktop trying to keep itself the way it was before. Is it making just one icon (ie replacing a deleted icon) or making a new one each time? If it's making a new one each time it's probably something in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->Software->Microsoft->Windows->Current Version->Run Once, or HKEY_CURRENT_USER and the same. Various things could cause it there.

If it's recreating a deleted icon each time, i'd guess it's the Active Desktop. I dunno which ver of windows you have, but most of them let you take a "snapshot" of the desktop for the next time it has to recover from a crash... try that.

I found at least a half dozen copies of LSANS.fot all around my C drive (Win98SE). Deleted the one in my active desktop (no idea why deleting it from the desktop itself didn't affect the folder) with no advese affects so far. Is this some sort of coding leak with Civ3, or do various programs make their own copies of it?

On the Tarzan mod, would it be a good idea to increase all ship movement by one to match increased road movement and map ratio? I know it's too late for this game, but it might be used again, PBEM or SP.

I'm now sending several games to alexman and I tend to watch carefully to see that there are no problems. However, I'm guilty of not always posting and I'll try to do better to avoid being an annoyance

Sorry for not posting here more often, but Apolyton takes very little of my time these days. I try to be a reliable player, though. But if things change, it's safer to send me a mail than posting it here, I believe everyone has my address.

I don't post often Off Topic either. In fact, only on rare occasions, although if a topic has my interest, I may stick with it for a day or two.
