MTA National News
Announcer: Welcome to the 6 o' clock news. Firefights continue outside St. Mare-Église. Martial law declared to fight back insurgents. King Kalius I visits St. Mare-Église. Nearly 100 civilians dead, scoreds wounded after 5 bombs explode in shopping parade.
The shooting by foreign troops outside the city of St. Mare-Église, the heartbeat of Mettran trade, has continued into it's third day today, with Mettran troops still no closer to defeating their invisible enemy or identifying the nationality of them. We now go to our correspondant Marcus Pepper who is in St. Mare-Église.
Pepper: Today has been another terrible day in this war against foreign "insurgents" was the word used by Colonel Carlo Hartley today, with nearly 100 dying in 5 seperate bomb blasts over the city. The injured are being forced to go over 100 miles away to Solisbury in the north, with hospitals here literally overflowing with cases. As I've said, 5 bomb blasts in the suburb of Paraglice, all exploding within around two minutes of eachother have rocked this city. You may find some of the pictures in this report disturbing.
[pictures of explosions]
As you can see, the terror...
Announcer: Sorry to interrupt, Marcus, but the commander of the Mettran Army, General Neil Carew is holding a press conference.
Carew: ...and we have found the identity of the people who have been bringing terror to the city of St. Mare-Église. After a tip-off by an anonymous man, we have discovered that the group behind the attacks are called Glauben-Minsar. Though we have never come across this group before, we are told it is being backed by a major organisation who is hellbent on the destruction of our nation. We believe they are fundamentalists who believe this is their rightful place. However, Mettre was created here, and we plan to hold not only St. Mare-Église and the rest of the Estrian District, but the rest of Mettre. The rest of the world cannot sit idly by while a free nation is held to ransom by a group of thugs. WE HAVE BEGUN THE FIGHT AGAINST GLAUBEN-MINSAR AND WE SHALL WAGE IT UNTIL THE END!!!
Announcer: While that announcement was being given you may have noticed the breaking news that a bomb has exploded in Evanton, Evanton is the other crucial trading post for all freight in and out of Mettre. We will bring you more on this as it breaks, but reports coming out of Evanton are all saying that a bomb has exploded in the city centre of Evanton.

Adailton
He was dressed far too well for Marine Castle. After all, Marine Castle was the premier sailing and beach activities district in Adailton, and most people dressed accordingly. But he was wearing a business suit, and sitting at a table on the sidewalk drinking coffee.
He supposed this was what the restaurant meant by "al fresco". It was some language he didn't understand. Probably Spanish; half of this city seemed to speak Spanish. He had bought a book that was supposed to learn you how to, but it had had little impact. He had enough problems figuring out when to say tu and when to say Usted, let alone remember six forms for every verb.
A shadow fell over his table. "Where is your appointment?"
"In Samara." The man in the suit looked up. "You made it."
"Yes," his visitor sighed. "I thought I'd be able to just slip in. No-one told me how fascist this city was about security!" he complained. "At the airport they photographed and fingerprinted everyone who got off the plane. Then there were computer cross-checks. And the terminal building was full of these, robots in black helmets."
"The Civil Defense Militia," the man in the suit supplied. "You definitely don't want to get on their bad side. It's worse now that the soccer championship is gonna be here. But at least you made it."
His visitor's eyes lit up. "As per our agreement," he purred, and flipped a suitcase up onto the table and flicked it open. "Karakas Sovereigns, small bills, from the last two years. You may count it if you wish."
"No need, my friend. I trust you. We've had to move the drop point, 'cause the Karakan paramilitaries found the old one. The new one is in Kyasanur Gorge. It's about twenty miles northwest of the old drop point, near an abandoned mineshaft. You'll recognize it - it's marked like we agreed."
"Thank you." The visitor locked the briefcase and slid it across the table. "To the revolution," he said, offering a closed fist in a gesture that looked very much like a secret handshake.
"Victory!" The man in the business suit returned the gesture. "Will you stay," he said casually, "and have some coffee?"
