	Change Back User Name? Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

I decided I want to be Giant Squid again. So I go to the name change thingy and type in Giant Squid. It tells me "You are trying to change to the old name of someone else. Please try again." That was sort of the point. What do I do?

Seen the same subject before, previously registered names, even your own are off limits in the UBB. Don't know if the GoA (Gods of Apolyton) can help you. Perhaps the record of the prior log on name can be deleted to free it up, but sometimes deletes like that can screw up the index in a database.

Yes, they can, Provost Harrison (at least) got his old name back. I guess this "feature" is here to make sure somebody else doesn't seize your old username if you change your username. Sort of why MWHC didn't want to change his username.

So, pray for the GoA, and actually pray for the other gods, too, if you want a quick answer.

Damn... I thought I had solved it!

Send a email to MarkG. While he does check this forum regularly, it never hurts to try multiple ways to contact him.

Best I can offer since I can't fix the problem... sigh.

the problem was that he had changed his login again in the past, and the script was confused...

Actually I had this problem reverting back to Provost Harrison, although it would allow provost Harrison, although MarkG promptly corrected this error and changed it back to a capital P...

He has said that he always wants to change his username when he finds some cool name from history books, but then goes back to GS after a few months. And I guess you can see that that is what he has been doing.
