	Two By Four Get a bigger avatar today!

Hi, would like to start a new game with the following:

* Each player chooses 2 (two) civs, which would play in sequence.
* Four players, so 8 civs, no AI.
* Standard size map
* Random settings, or middle-of-the-road world settings.
* Accelerated Production

(This game is now CLOSED.)

Turn order:
Snoopy369 (japan, france) [snoopy369 & yahoo]
j2k (mongol, zulu) [pbem3 & paperrat com]
platypus rex (dutch, persian) [prext & msn]
aqualung (portugese, chinese) [akwalung71 & yahoo]

Apologies for the names i gave you, nobody mentioned what they wanted so i had to be ... creative, which is NOT my strong point.

my setting preferences are to go for random everything

I'm in the PST, but can usually play at almost any time of the day or night as needed... I'm starting a new job next week which may restrict my daytime playing ability... but then again, it probably wont since its a videogame company.

K. It's done. Play order is posted in first post. Each of us has 2 randomly gen. civs ... good luck! If you want a restart, please ask by the end of your first turn ...

All settings are random, except 60% water, because with 8 civs on a standard map, 80% water would REALLY suck, and 70% isn't great either.

Yeh ... i thought the civs randomly chosen were ... highly amusing.

BTW, do we want to have any 'rules' on what you should and shouldn't do between your two civs? IE, gifting cities, straight gifting money, etc.?

I'd say that gifting cities should generally not be allowed, just because it might imbalance the game too much (one huge dominant civ), but money/tech/resources/etc. should be allowed to be gifted or traded to whatever degree you want. Your two civs are not *required* to be allies, although it's assumed they are and normal 'no coordinating w/o embassy' rules do not apply to your two civs. Automatic RoP as well (unless you choose not to allow it).

But i'm open to your opinions certainly. Honestly not 100% sure what the effect of allowing city gifting would be... maybe interesting at that. Who knows?

PR, no good again? That's a shame

So we need to restart? Hopefully that deosn't mean re-setting the civs? Though Portugal + China would not be my first choice, I don't mind using them.

As for gifting cities, I'm in 2 minds. Generally I'm in favour of allowing anything between 2 civs that you control, even gifting cash - this makes for a truly integrated team and is fair on everyone. However, I can see that the ability to gift cities may give great advantages to a player whose 2 civs are relatively close together, while being almost useless for someone whose civs are a great distance apart. So for that reason, it could be a little unbalancing.
