Yes, I was taking comfort in that fact!

Now something immensely odd has happened. My Civ app has lost its sound. The sounds works on other game apps if I load them. The computer's sound is fine in itself. I checked all the preferences and they haven't changed. It has nothing to do with whether the CD is in the machine or not. I even reloaded the game with its patches. No sound!

Try turning the Civ prefs of, restart, turn on...

hmm, I had a fun afternoon too finbar - deleting and trying to reload and upgrade icq.

I managed to get 2003a going but couldn't get 2004lite to load.

load, freeze, reboot, repeat, all afternoon............aargghh!!

I reloaded Civ, reloaded the patch, restarted the computer and I have sound again. Who knows? I also now have ICQ 3.4 installed which works.

I'm beginning to think the problem was bloody Telstra again.

I showed up Saturday night but noone was around.

Could be ours - but keep it for other little visitors. Ours have a zillion toys thanks to over-indulgent grandparents.

The Carr government seems to be imploding quite spectacularly. The only pleasure I'm getting out of it is watching Michael Costa crash and burn. I don't understand how the trains could run on time for decades and now don't.

Latham should find a way to remind voters he doesn't get on with Bob.

King Bracksie is doing fine, the freeway runs through the liberal heartland of the eastern subburbs.

I had to give Athens a miss unfortunately, work commitments got in the way, but Houghton tabletennis club won the A grade grandfinal and as a member of the winning team hopefully there will be some reward
