	The "While we are waiting" game Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

While we are waiting for Buster, I'll set up a minigame just for fun (we can "hone our skills" until the real game gets started)

Angels
Gaians
Morgan
Sparta

AI
Drones
Cult
Believers

(AI chosen to give a bit of oppo to the teams)

I'll e-mail a password to a players in each of the 4 factions

in turn order:

laurentius for the Gaians
Googlie for Morgan
Jamski for Sparta
FlameFlash for the Angels

and you can publish it in your private forum. If we post the turns here then any team member can open it and play the turn - that way it'll keep moving

(It'll be vanilla AI - I won't set it up as a scenario, but just as a multiplayer start and then set passwords, so the first turn will be 2102)

(and although I did have to open the first turn of each to set the passwords, I didn't look at the start positions, so have no idea where everyone is - that way I can play in the Morgan team to test out some of our differing visions as to how to structure the faction)

Everybody, be sure to make lots of mistakes and try zany strategies that probably won't work. That way we won't be tempted to adopt this as the real ACDG3 if there's a delay.

LOL - that's exactly what I said in our Morgan forum - one of the dangers of using the same factions (we might get too wedded to this one)

To recap:

No AI tweaks (except "intense rivalry")
Transcend level, large map, 50% to 70% water, average everything
All winning conditions on
No random events
Directed research
Spoils of war on
game-generated start positions with usual start units (ie no scenario tweaks)

Please post zipped turns hhere as attachments - that way any team member can download and play the turns (and the first turn posted by a team member will be that team's official turn - so check before posting that there's not a pre-emptive one already in the sytem

Exactly, K. I was cleaning up my old ACDG turnsaves and saw the original Hypersmac one, and that gave me the idea of having a quickie game while we wait for Buster's re-appearance

Hey Angels (and everybody), after this week I'll be offline for a while (moving to Minnesota from Missouri). I don't know when I'll be back on. I'm posting the password in our private forum, but just so you know, new members better join fast to that if they want in it (a couple of you have stated that you want to wait, but just in case, here's a final poke.)

My move out day is Friday the 18th. Hopefully I'll be back before the game gets too far (both of them.)

This is a great idea.

Maybe we ought to publicize this more in the AC Demo Game forum.

To keep up interest until the actual Demo Game starts.

Well, I must say that this is a big disappointment



The idea of the game (at least my idea) was that it wouldn't be like the real game, where endless debate occurs before anyone moves, but that as soon as the gameturn appeared, a faction player would open it, play it and then post it.

I foolishly thought that maybe we'd see several turns a day

But it looks like the old formula of a turn every several days.
