cache?
------------------
No, in Australia we don't live with kangaroos and koalas in our backyards... Despite any stupid advertisments you may see to the contrary... (And no, koalas don't usually speak!)

The reason is, quite simply, that apolyton has a hack which appends a question mark and a post number onto the end of the url (used to be the time of the last post), fooling the cache into thinking you're loading a different page each time a new post is added (Which, in fact, you are, but the computer does not know that). This hack is lacking from the other forums.

<img src=/forums/"/images/blue1.gif" width=100% height=1></font></td></tr></table></center>i dont think that's it, since i didnt have this problem in other forums
our hack is not there to fool the chache and reload the thread, but to fool the visited/unvisited feature of the browsers into showing a thread with new posts as unvisited

Well, Mark, I have had problems in the past with the combination Internet Explorer and forums without the time/post-number append hack. On some (often public) computers, especially with IE 4.1, I have had the same problem Mouse described, and could not solve it short of clearing the cache in between each page load. Your hack has the nice side-benefit of actually stopping this stupid behaviour.
Oh, and if you want to see your post use CTRL+F5 instead of just F5. I think that might work.

Try typing in ?aaa or something (with the ? in front) after the URL. That's the only advice I can give. Doesn't give much relief, admittedly. Or, preassure the webmasters to include the ?1 hack.

if you have ie, see "tools" -> "internet options", then the "settings" button under "temporary internet files"
choose "every visit to the page"

Clear both the memeory and disk cache. That should force a reload.
