	A Begining and End Support Apolyton

In MY year 2175, the CPU surrendered to the joint forces of Human Hive and the Free Drones. It had been a long and difficult battle with numerous atrocities committed by both sides during the sunspot activity.

Battle Function Geomodder of the CPU signed the surrender with Commander Jtsisyoda leading the Free Drones and Deputy Chairman Honghu of the Human Hive. When the sunspot activity lifted the following year shock ran through the global community as it became apparent that captured cities of Believers and Peace had been brutally nervestapled by the CPU. While Hive and the Drones had caused numerous deaths of Cycon and University citizens in their efforts to put an end to so called half humans.

All Borgs had their implants removed and were given back their humanity and the world tried to move on from their mistakes. However, the crimes during the recent wars were not forgotten.

While the alliance controlled the world there was still great unrest among the populance. In an effort to bring peace Foreman Buster of the Free Drones proposed a colonisation project where the dissidents and war criminals that had resulted from the recent wars would be sent to colonise a new world. A complete pardon of all past crimes was offered for those willing to take the trip.

Archaeological studies of alien records at the Manifold Nexus revealed possible planets for the new penal colony. In the alien records the planet Chiron was known as Manifold 6 and there were other Manifolds. Intrigued the destination of the new colony was determined to be the planet referred to as Manifold 4.

In MY year 2200 the penal starship FDHH Redemption was commissioned. It included the facilities for world forming to seed a new world making it inhabitable according to Foreman Buster’s vision. While originally the project was targeted at dissidents of the conquered factions, loyalists from both the Free Drones and the Human Hive also boarded the Redemption to become part of the construction of the new world. It became project of hope that brought peace to both those that chose to stay on Chiron and those who sought to colonise the new world. Previous faction loyalties were eroded as a result and past wrongs began to be forgotten.

The starship FDHH Redemption arrived in the solar system of star 456-462 and started atmospheric and landmass terraforming of Manifold 4 according to the plans Buster had lain out. The crew named the star Elpis after the Greek goddess of hope and in commemoration of the unity mission turned the calendar back to 2100.

However, obviously not all the wrongs in the past had been forgiven as an unknown group started the self destruct sequence of the Redemption before the world forming had been completed. When the escape pods landed seven distinct factions emerged each blaming the others for the destruction of the Redemption. This time distrust meant there would only be one victor that would rule over this new world.

You need Advanced Spaceflight to make an interstellar starship, and even if you had that tech, you'd need the minerals for 28 Colony Pods, 7 Scouts, enough Cryobays to support the people - which would require the equivalent of 7 fusion reactors (14 fission reactors for 14 colony pods, 7 fusion)
You'd also need a basic spaceship structure, and the escape pods - make that 7 ODPs.

No bloody way that could be done in 1 freakin' year.

Besides, the CyCon vessel Unity III is reaching completion in Chiron orbit within 10 posts.

the target is 61 Cygni A, the main component of a double star system consisting of 2 orange stars, about 14 ly away...

I think I have a 'normal' sized map somewhere, 89% water, ideally for putting a bunch of custom seafaction on it + enough room for 2 land factions. And I can adapt it with a bit more land so 3 land factions are possible...

Well we do have a perfectly good, prstine ACPSG, with forum, save etc all ready. In fact if there was to be a restart of a single faction game I would be all for it.

I really don't know if there's the interest though. Tass was once interested.

Btw, what roleplay frame will we use for ACDG3?

Will we use the original "Unity depart from Earth" story and the reworked edition of obstructor?
Will we use GeoModders Unity III story?
Or will we use this Tranquillity story of Kody?

This could have influence on the kind of roleplay we do. Also if we use one of the two latter suggestions, we'll need to come up with a good reason how we again lost ALL technological know-how upon crashlanding on the planet.

Someone selfdestructed the ship, that's why we lost all the technologies.

Plot flaw that I see is what Enigma pointed out. Orbital Spaceflight does not equal advanced spaceflight. Although with Hive and Drone production I don't see anything wrong with a new starship being built in 1 year. Just look at the production being generated.

Our current Faction line up is inconsistent with a ship departing from the ACDGII and flying off to another planet (not to mention its hard to explain why that new planet looks adsactly like a pre-colonized Chiron)

I like the original Departure story

This is simply a differnt "way it might have gone" senario, an alternate dimention, a twist in the fabric of time, a pimple on the cosmic timescape, a causality defect in reality, a wrinkle in the space-time continum WHAT EVER...

We just reset the clock and were all now members of differnt factions as the damaged Unity hurtles towards an unexplored planet and we prepare to start a new life beneth an alien sky...

Well there are lot of things that could reset things. Ship may hit a cosmic string, causing spacetime continuum to rewind to MY 2100. However, due to quantum fluctuations, events unfold differently and new factions are formed instead of old ones. That does not explain why Chiron is comepletely different. I like the alternate dimension story better . Or we may say that this mankind transcended on Chiron, and Planetmind chose certain groups of people and setup them in virtual scenario where events on Unity unfolded different, Chiron itself looks different, and it is now testing strength of certain ideologies that never appeared on original Chiron, or failed abruptly. Of course, no one remembers their past, nor they realise that this is all just a complex virtual simulation created by Planetmind.

CyCons had used too much atrocities and even after the peace came we were not able to offset its effect on the planet. Thus the Great Flood came and submerged the entire planet. Foreman buster had built the starship Noah's Ark and the people who believed in him escaped the catastrophy. There was no room and no time for getting other things on board except for people, the daily necessaties and a handful crucial basic techniques. When the flood receded, every human creation on planet was gone and the planet recuperated its original state. Noah's Ark exploded in the process of landing and several landing pods survived. Among the survivors there are people who believe that we can't repeat the same errors (Gaians), there are people who are familiar with the technology age and aim to recover it (Data Angels), there are people who are used to the higher living standards (Morgans) and there are people who believe a new start meaning new opportunities for them to gain controls (Spartans). We start again. Will we be able to avoid the mistake we have repeated once and again this time?

The flood changed the planet. And we wasn't prepared for the flood. Or there could be a electrical shock just before the starship exploded. People only remembered the most basic technologies because they could recover it solely from their brains and using their hands. They know how to proceed to recover the other techs though, thus no blind research.

How about the ship was sent on a hyperbolic Free Return trajectory at 99.99% the speed of light. The Crew was placed in Cryo Sleep and bairly aged. Upon return to the Chiron system a Billion years had passed vs only 50 ship years, Continents had been worn down and built up, all trace of Human life habitation had been erased, only the enigmatic self repairing Monoliths remainded. The Fungus/mindworm super organism had gone through several flowering cycles and is now once again in a lull between flowerings.

Or we could say that the ship was planed for a briefer 50- 200 year round trip just long enough for the sea's to retreat BUT they fell through a Plot.. I mean Worm Hole and emerged a Billion years later.
