I'm not sure what your point is, MarkG asked for a news editor(s), because we are getting a civ group, and you want me to convince him that we don't need one?

It appears MarkG is NOT going to give us a CIVGROUP UNLESS we provide a news editor.

This is probably a response to the site getting a lack of news.

So its simple, if we want a CIVGROUP, we need a news editor.

One will do for right now.

Who wants to volunteer?

Is that clear enough?

Don;t worry - News Ed is not much work provided you can pop in at least every few days. You don;t even need the News Ed to post the news - any member of the CivGroup can, and the only thing the Ed can do that others can't is edit and accept the news, which then goes to the News Page straight away.

Of course it would make sense if the Ed was also a little bit responsible for ensuring a news item was posted every now and again....

Well, I am But MarkG contacted you, so I just persumed. How about I do a re-poll, for the civ group icon, for four days, and if it seems like an obvious win before that, I will PM Markos about it?

ok, i PMed him with the current info and also asked about a possible later additional "AU civgroup of honour".

for the icon, i'd propose to first ask for commissions for a possible different AU civgroup icon and then re-poll it. 7 days for each phase probably is the ideal time, not too short, not too long...

to create any new ideas they need some time. they also need to spot that new thread.
the voting time could be cut shorter of course...
