I would like to complain about stupid ads, though out of duty rather than any real motivation. I am aware I am letting down the community by being the only member not to have compained about ads at some point.
The one that says 'win free stuff' is stupid. Why would anyone want to go the trouble of entering a competition if the prize is free anyway? I want to win expensive stuff. This ad has got to go.

I could be, but really I was just making a point about how dumb it is to complain about ads in general. Its not like you write a letter to the TV station every time they show a car advert with a chick draped across the bonnet...
Some sense of proportion on these things is needed, I'd say. Consider this a thread for complaining about people complaining about ads...
I would click on ads to other game review sites and so on, online contents not shops. Being in Europe most of the US online folk won't ship to us so there is no point anyway (not that I would click even if I thought they would...)

I will leave as soon as the "controlled" portion of the ad-space starts containing sexist crap.
Er, perhaps.
Or at least complain.

btw, lets clarify some things
the "controlled" banner(the one appearing on the right in the forum summary pages) show the following
- ads from mycomputer.com(which we dont choose one by one, the only control we have is that we can remove it)
- other ads from mp3.com, about.com, the lycos network, games from chips&bits and a couple other things(which we choose one by one and have full control)
so if you have a problem the next time you see a time magazine ad, we are the people to complain to

Sweden is among the most restrictive countries in europe for this sort of thing. A bare-breasted ad or anything resembling Page 3 Babes would be completely ostracized by the community. So, no, the stereotypes are not true. And America has a higher Suicide rate. And most populated areas of sweden have only a few days of snow a year.
