	Civ board game Support Apolyton, buy Alpha Centauri

Anyone know where I can get a copy of Civ the board game (avalon hill not sid meier's) other than on ebay? i was told that a french company now has the rights and while its no longer in print in english it is in french. I would prefer an english copy but the name of the french company would be helpful too. Google searches turn up a bunch of pages in french that I cant read (go figure)

its a bunch of links because i have no clue of the relavence. it could be a french site about the game or it could actualy be selling it. *(basicly its all of the french sites resulting from the google search of "avalon hill civilization)

I have no idea on the reliability of these retailers.

Some help about online buying in France:
- "ajouter au panier" means "add to cart"
- "commander" means "order"
In the first link, you'll have to register ("s'enregistrer") by giving your e-mail adress first. It is called "create an account" ("créer un compte" in the second one.

You'll probably have to enter a bunch of info, including your snail mail adress and telephone. I suggest you use a French-English dictionary in the process, or if none is available, babelfish translation

Both of those are Sid Meiers Civ game.

Afaik the old AH version is not currently in print anywhere so unless you find a copy collecting dust in a specialist game store, second hand sales are going to be your only hope. I'm not selling mine!

Edit: After some research, I understand the French editor of the old Civ boardgame is called "Jeux Descartes", a shop well known in central Paris (it's where I buy anything pen'n'paper).

However, looking at their online catalog, they seem not to have it anymore.

This link should help. Admittedly it refers to a French version of the game, but is on sale in the US with full translation.
I didn't look up whether or not the game is for sale at cafegames.com, but if you contact them on cafegames@aol.com then I'd hope they'd be able to help you.

reminds of (possibly apocryphal) story about American diplomat receiving communication beginning "nous demandons" and being outraged - "they have no right to demand THAT" before learning that demander = to ask, not "to demand" As always, beware "faux amies" (Sp/Orth?)
