that's because you're used to it. I felt quite uncomfortable in the beginning, and I think many newbies do. there's no reason to keep the boxes that small, so I vote for expansion, as always

Oh well... Proxomitron crashed, I could get the filter to work but I hadn't optimized it yet... Here you go, anyway. Download Proxomitron from http://www.proxomitron.cjb.net , configure it so that it works on your computer, and then just add this to your filter file:

Name = "Apolyton textbox largener"
Active = TRUE
Multi = TRUE
URL = "*apolyton.net/cgi-bin/ubb/postings.cgi*"
Limit = 16
Match = "ROWS=15 COLS=55"
Replace = "ROWS=25 COLS=75"

(If you want to make it even larger, fiddle with the numbers in the Replace section. I'll optimize the filter tomorrow.)

And BTW, PH, who do you think you are to call people newbies... Look at that 2000 under your username .
