If we change our next research to doc:mob as well, and we trade it/receive it from the Gaians when they finish, could we switch then to Doc:Flex?

Someone who can check on this?

Or do we continue with the our adapecon beeline and simply switch to doc:flex after we receive doc:mob from the Gaians?

As far as I can tell (I forgot what slot number we are (I chose 7) we will be offered Doc: Mob as a choice next turn. Then if we receive from the Gaians we can switch to Doc Flex.

Interestingly (again it might depend if slot 7 is right) because we have accepted Biogen we will not be offered Adaptive Economics next turn anyhow.

I would say yes. We can have a probe foil wandering around 10 years sooner then. And if the PTS as our first SP stands we're not much good with having the PEG available for construction soon.

According to the Gaian info given to us, and the diplo screen, the Gaians have received Doc:Mob and Gene Splicing from the Spartans and are researching SocPsych now (finish in 2147)
The Spartans have IndAuto and IndBase (not sure of the latter was traded with the Gaians or researched themselfes).
Gaians will have ApPhys in 2143 (from us).

Maybe I'm wrong but I think this is quite good news. We three factions working together (for a while) can stall the Morgan machine. I wonder why they (the Gaians) chose Soc Psych rather than Doc flex.

Soc Psych gives recreational commons. If they have Gene Splicing it's time for getting ready for pop boom.
Also it leads to other "Gaian" techs.

If we have the PTS, one drone is quelled. That gives us some breathing space. Let's consider offering ProgPsych to the Gaians once we're on the research track to AdapEcon (in exchange for socpsych... And we don't know (yet) what techs the Spartans might be willing to trade.

Still nothing from Kassi on the diplo thread. If tomorrow still nothing is there, can I make inquiries about Doc:Flex? I guess they will ask a higher price if we don't take Doc:Flex as well... might be possible to circumvent that if we state we already have a deal regarding that tech.

This is a great opportunity for all of us three factions to keep level / ahead of Morgans.

(We really have nothing to lose by tech trades (apart from PP, AE)).

We are going for Doc:flex atm. There's a deal with the Gaians that they sent us Doc:Mob in 2148, and we switch to Doc:Flex afterwards (we're currently researching Doc:Mob, so a change wouldn't affect our research points).

Imagine this:
Spartans and Gaians get an agreement.
Gaians agree to trade Doctrine Loyality for Doctrine Flexibility with Spartans
We are relieved from need to get Doctrine:Flexibility, but Gaians forward Doctrine Mobility to us in exchange for other technology.

We might (if needed) to tell Gaians that there is a possibility Morgans can get PEG, thus we get it faster but switching our curren research to Adaptive Economics instead of Flexibility. Noone looses here.

Spartans get Loyality
Gaians get 2 techs: Flexibility and other tech from us.
Angels - we get PEG faster.

The only problem - we will need to trade Flexibility again

with the addition of some military or more bases to spread the dromes out we could lower the Psych to 30 and add that 10% to research.

That with -1 police a second military unit to quell drones isn't possible.
And adding another 10% to research might backfire, for the inefficiency rating would become even higher compared with econ.
