Earth Maps? Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

Sorry to ask a question that was probably already answered many times over, but I just got Civ 3 and have been playing it and was wondering if someone can point me to where I can get a map of Earth that has the proper starting locations for all 31 civs on it? I am looking for a standard to large (180X180) size map as I find the bigger ones take to long to play on.

Thanks.

Enter the AD-FREE zone

Head over to CFC and check out the Creation & Customization section. There's plenty of world maps of various sizes and qualities to be found there.

Or check out my signature for one that plays real fast.

I found mine at Civ fanatics.

They have some pretty good maps.

The only thing I don't like is when I play a predesigned map, I have to play it as a scenario. Is there any other way to do this?

The problem is I don't get the hall of fame screen when I win. And I also don't get the guy with the sledgehammer hitting the scale. I really like those things. What fun is winning if I can't compete against my other high scores?

I thought you don't get those things only if the rules are changed in a scenario. If you import a map into a scenario and do not modify the rules, it should still work (I haven't tested this, though I think that was the situation).

I think the rules may have been changed.

The maps and scenarios thing still seems confusing to me. I've never really messed around with the editor. It seemed so much simpler in Civ2. And I messed around with maps and scenarios a lot in that game.
