Good question.

I'd thought of it (him) mainly as a person - an elite who rose thru the ranks to become a famous General. Maybe starts off as the adjutant (Lieutenant) to Lt Colonel Maniac, (you being the Co-Chairman of the Junta and Commanding Officer of the 1st Army, Spartan Expeditionary Force) and as the unit gains morale boosts you give him promotions until he finally commands the 1st Army

Or, the Spartan Kel could be a unit designation (but why the K... E ... L ... ? - Killer Elites?

I like both options (Kel as a person or as a unit of Killer Elites ). However I assume you'd prefer the "person" option most.

If so, the unit needs another name. I've thought of "Praetorian Guard", but I assume we'd want to reserve that as a name for a unit type. Hmm, perhaps "the Leonidas Guard", "the Megalo Maniacs", "Riveira's Rangers", "Pedro's Phalanx"...

Regarding the earthquake, do you feel we should rename the Río Grande river and base? Since the river now loops back into itself, should the area now not be considered a huge swamp instead of a true river?

Good point. The western arm has a few 10 meter elevation tiles, while the east and southern arm skirting the crater has most at the 500 - 1000 meter level (and there must be a spectacular waterfall on 59:11 to 58:10 where the elevation drops from 1454 meters to 10 meters (the Niagara Falls would pale into insignificance compared to that!!)

(I also took the liberty of naming a couple of more areas in the map - Straits of Thebes between us and the Uniland, (University of Thebes - get it?) and Cape Wrath right at the northenmost tip of our continent)

We now have more than our "fair share" of landmarks, but I think we should keep adding them until the well runs dry (like technologies, they then can become a matter for trade. After all, early explorers named most of the Earth's features, and Sparta is the "early explorer" of Chiron)

Regarding our new base near the two nuts.
I actually like the name "Twonuts Strand".
However if we want something else, how about Assassin's Redoubt? Being close to both the Great Fungal Wall and the Hive, I thought the name would be fitting.
