I'll wait for my vote for a bit just to see if there's even any iterest... personally I'm thinking if this thread doesn't get any votes and the game doesn't move much more the poll is moot and we throw it into being a PBEM regardless... but that's just IMHO...

Next comes the whole, who would represent each faction part though... There's always the option, as you just mentioned, Kass, to simply for the most part take over as a PBEM but also mention how the game is going to everybody else in the faction in the private forums every once and a while.

As the game setter-upper (?) I can't play as a PBEM, so I chose the Xenobanana option.

(As an aside, the Kody Codicil would enable Kody to pass ownership of the AI factions to human players, so it could, technically, become a 7-player PBEM if desired)

How 'bout:
Whenever there's a turn up, someone plays it.

It's a mass melee PBEM since you don't know who's playiing next, but at least we won't be stuck waiting for the 'waiting' game.

I lack the time to contiune, but I'm more than happy for AndiD to continue to play the Morganites turn as a PBEM. Perhaps we can continue as is, but have each team decide what they want to do - PBEM or FFA team game etc.

mess up the turn rate in my PBEMs.

FFS people, is an average turn rate of 16 hours that hard to manage? Just check the forums for the turn every day.

I voted xenobanana. I thought the idea was good that several people is the same faction can play it. And one thread in the private forum can easily be devoted to its record and discussion. If some one in a team wants to play it as a pbem and his teamates are not against it, then he can treat it as a pbem and still allow others to play it the way it is. So I don't really see anything wrong with the way it is now.

However I'm not a team member so I don't want my opinion to influence the poll result.

No I don't want to influence the poll result by adding my own for or against. But if I don't want to influence how people look at an issue then I wouldn't talk. Or if I don't want to make my own contribution to make the world a better world I wouldn't even be here at all.

Well, it currently is like a PBEM with Kass, Geo and me. And if it slows down, a few friendly *bump*s of the thread will do it, I suppose.
