not sure? but they certainly were released on american hardware. Mastertronic was a fairly prolific publisher of budget games through the 80's over here in the uk.

And this was one of those rare titles where the C64 version looked inferior to the other computer versions. It was usually the other way around [and it was a small ray of light for Atari 8bit owners who never got to see an Elite for their computer- not that this game was any where near the league of Elite of course ]

SC, you're spot on!

The flatheads reference gets it every time. In Zork Zero you meet the famous Lord Dimwit Flathead for a brief moment as one of your ancestors. After that introduction you wake up in his castle and try to stop a curse from taking effect.


It has some brilliant puzzles and humour in it. Anyone else who tried Zork Zero?

I keep coming back to a 'beat um up' type game - the one i think i'm thinking of was truely awfull, but had these 'cutting edge' digitised character graphics, lots of blood effects as well.............it will come to me soon
