Could we cut down on the ads? Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

There's only one thing I don't like about Apolyton: the ads. Especially on the forums. One ad is fine, but if I don't respond on apolyton.net/forums and don't respond on Off-Topic, do you really think I'd click on an ad when I go to the Post New Topic screen?

Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations: Deluxe Edition

Hmmm... would you rather pay a monthly fee to access Apolyton, or have ads that you can ignore
There is a cost involved in running a large website, the money has to come from somewhere.

I don't think this is possible but I thought it might be a solution. Those of us with fast modems (cable) and don't mind ads to support the site can sign up for an extra ad per page. The extra ad would then count for one less ad on a slower loading modem for a user that doesn't like ads.

I have no problem with ads as long as they support Apolyton and if you could come up with this unpractical system, I'd sign up for an extra ad or two.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

nice idea tniem, but it couldnt work as our additional ads are not paying based on impression, but on click. so even if you are kind enough to see 10 of these ads on each page, it wont do us any good

Floris 0, the answer to your question is "no, we can not cut down on the ads". and unfortunately there is currently no system able to understand that you have seen the same ad several times and dont intend to click on it

Suffering from ads?

Lefty: I don't think clicking on babe ads is worth your marginal time. Every second of yours is very valuable. Might I suggest a small, contribution of about a $ million or so to help you better utilize your time?

Got spare money?

Ads in general are absolutely fine, and they keep this site free. But if we could get rid of the pop-up, that would be great.

Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

Hey Lefty - you don't have to shove your heterosexual orienation in other people's faces.

What Markos and the other staff members need to do, is somehow use logic and reasoning to explain to Ugo how their rampant pop up ads are damaging Apolyton's customer relations.
