	An alternative "punishment" to those who spam for reasons of post count. Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

Simple. Their goal is obvious. And since it's such a trivial thing, why not give it to them?

If it becomes clear that a person is spamming JUST for the pupopose of gaining higher levels (emporer or diety) simply, give it to them.

Boost them all the way to emporer, or hell, even diety. I would think that they'd just go away then. Both of the two really bad spammers left when they reached emporer (provostb and djugashvili) and mao, since he reached diety, he still posts, but he doesn't really SPAM anymore, like he used to. SO how about it?

Cruel Lefty suggests rather than you forever deny them their objective by giving them the permanent post count status designation of SPAMMER.

I keep wondering how can people care about being King or Emperor that much. I don't care for the post count, however, Deity sound pretty cool.

It sounds too much like a reward, and I think MarkG has a point.

What if a settler starts spamming, so that he gets to skip all the intermediate levels. The idea really only works for those who are in the higher ranks...

Instead of post count reductions, why not just suspend peole who cause these problems. The last 'poll' on the counts only drew about 60 responses, so most people don't care one way or the other. Leave it alone already. Banning is effective. It sends out a strong message, and it eliminates the problem.

I like the title spammer idea...it's sort of like the scarlet letter. seriously, though, how f++++n stupid is it to post just for a high post count? who cares? I've been posting here for 4 years, but am still just a prince. Oh well!

for those who spam, just turn off the feature that allows thier post count to accumulate.

I think a solution would be to make the titles more insulting as you accumulate posts. "Settler" could be "normal", Chieftain "fool", Warlord "idiot" etc. etc.
