EN: No. Obstructor has not purposefully insulted or tried to annoy you. He has annoyed you by playing the turn slowly, but within his 48 hours. That is legal,and fine. Insulting is not.
Comply or you won't have a choice to comply or not. It is that simply. Touting horns is allowed, but if people complain because they feel insulted or victimized, that isn't. I will always give you a warning if I think you're going to far, but if it continues, I have little choice but to ask for you to be removed from the game. Please stop insulting.
For the record, I have talked to Obs about turn playing times, and about trying not to annoy you. However I don't think Obs has gone to far, except in paranoia. This is a warning, stop insulting and offending people. Pinging someone constantly for hours to check if they've done the turn is not kosher. They have 48 hours, and they are trying to play fast, but they play as a team, and as such, need a few hours to play. I will come down on them if they go over 48 hours without good reason, and I have said that fast playing is always appreciated, and they have/are trying.

Yes, that would be fine Banter, touting horns, etc is all fine, but when it gets insulting and offending, it isn't. If you are insulted by someone, tell me, and I will take action.

Let me tell you a little story. I used to be annoyed often by this guy's tones in his posts. I couldn't understand why he always sounded so angry and threatening. Once he said to a friend, who he respects I believe, "Do not attempt to do this again. " I PMed him asking why such ordering and threatening tone? Why couldn't him say "Please don't do this again." His response gave me a little surprise. He told me about his language background. He told me that in his language that sentence is not threatening at all. In his native language, their words carry redundant information, which tells more about the tone of sentence, which English doesn't have. And he told me that he is aware of that problem.
Yes that was obstructor. His words opened my eyes. I came to realize what the "cultural difference" we always talk about really is. Internet is a very special place. When we write and read a post, or chat online, we don't get to see each other's face, we can't read face expressions. Sometimes, misunderstandings are very easy to happen.
What we can do, is to be more open, and more tolerant to each other. Think twice when you think somebody is purposely trying to offend you. And try our best not to purposely trying to offend others. It is a lucky thing that we come together, from all over the world, brought together by the mutual love of a game. Let's try not to abuse it. Instead of making each other's life just a little bit harder, let's try making them just a little bit happier.
