The somewhat recent release of the Thrones and Patriots demo made me wonder why, after months and months of playing the original RoN demo, I haven't yet picked up the full game.
Well, this weekend I finally did.
I have to say, it's worthy of every single "Best of 2003" award it has received. This game has impeccable polish, flawless design, inspiring audio, and deep gameplay. Simply put, it's one of the best games I've played in years. The demo alone had enough gameplay for more than 6 months, I can't imagine how long I'll be playing the full version.
I'm picking up Thrones and Patriots in a couple of days (not that I've run out of gameplay in the original yet).
This game really nails home the fact that Brian Reynolds was the true genius behind Civ2 and Alpha Centauri rather than Sid Meier.

Why would you play the demo for 6 months?
You would think that you would know you would like or dislike the game after the first week, wouldnt you?
