	Alex never played Heroes of Might and Magic Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations

Ok, I was looking for a new game to buy and I saw this Heroes of Might and Magic III on a bargain bin...

Now, I've heard good things about this game before, but I never played any game in the HoMM series. Is it really good?

Just one more question. In another store I found a package containing the original HoMM III and two expansions (one of them is called 'Armageddon' something). This package is a little more expensive than the original HoMM only, so I wanted to know if the expansions are worth my precious extra money or if I should just get the original one. If it is any good, of course.

If you like TBS, and don't mind the pseudo-medieval fantasy setting, then this game is great. Definitely recommend you check it out.

I played this game a lot! I don't have the expansions so I couldn't comment on that, but I think they're pretty cool from what I've heard

It's a humungous time-sponge. I don't even really like the game that much but I've wasted entire days playing it.

Just don't get the fourth in the series.

Yeah, I'd recommend grabbing the expansion. Armageddon's Blade added some nice features, and a lot of the maps you might download off the Internet require it.

Warning: The attached campaign for Heroes III original is really, really bad unless you are truly new to the game. It's more annoying than challenging. The Heroes II main campaign is better and more challenging, and of course the many custom Heroes III maps you can download.

Has anyone played the fan-made expansion Wake of the Gods for HoMM3? Good, bad?

Played the ur-version of it: Kings Bounty and loved it. For me all the later HOMM's look remarkably alike and don't have that much over the original.

It's not horrid, but it's more of the same, and what they did change many believe was better the old way.

Heroes Of Might And Magic 3 is the second best game(after Civ2). EVER!
and the expancions are really worth it, so buy HOMM 3 Complete if you can.


and HOMM2 & HOMM4 are good too, so buy them also if you find them.

I bought the Complete edition. Thought it would be worth the extra money.

Now I have to get some room to install it on this old and small HD. Hm, I have Civ3, so maybe...

The Complete Edition is a very addictive game

Don't forget the patch, and there are tons of user-made scenarios and campaigns as well.
