No DOGS RULE! Why? Dogs help us because they want to help us. They do K9 Bootcamp in the US for example, and they search drugs and guns and explosives and all kinds of dangerous things and get paid peanuts. Maybe literally peanuts . And they love it. So that's a reason they do rule. THey also hunt down criminals, and dangerous ones.

They obey their master, and usually like that too. They'll settle for cheer and few games to keep them happy, and snacks. For that, they're ready to jump in front of a bullet for you.

Cats..? You can disguise the fact that they won't do that for you with excuse that they're too intelligent. Loyalty doesn't however mean stupid.

They are.. I like dogs more than other animals (I like other animals too) or humans. When it comes to living things, I like dogs best.

If domestic cats got to be up to 160 lbs, or 5 feet tall sometimes, you would certainly hear more about people mauled by cats than dogs.

And in fantasy land those statistics of dogs killing people would be meaningful . Domestic dogs really don't kill people that often. ANd most of the times you're talking about the few races of dogs that are nuts anyway.

I prefer them mixed breeds.. Many people say they want a spesific breed, because they would have personality typical to that breed and that's what they spesifically want, but I like the dogs who are of multiple races.. I think they have as much personality as anyone else, plus many times they have good personalities as in friendly. I like the dogs who are friendly (most dogs are) and kind of funny. I like the ones that have something stupid they always do. Makes me laugh.. adds to the personality and they be fooling around, makes me like them so much more.

I like the kind of dogs that even little children come to pet and play all the time, you know and not be afraid of them, and then in return the dog doesn't scare them away trying to jump on them or trying to play mother to them, which is definitely a NO to dogs, some poeple should just realize it.. don't let dogs be mothers to people, they need to know their place too. Not trying to make them act like humans too much, because they aren't humans. They just get confused. Better let them be what they are and play with their rules and conditions.

I hate dog beaters more than I hate woman beaters. I hate both, but I hate dog beaters more . They're the lowest scum on earth.. sometimes you need to punish your dog, but just beating on them, that's just stupid.

In the U.S., there is an average of 18 deaths a year caused by dometic dogs from 1988-1994 (109 total). The most common culprits are pit bulls, rottweilers and german shepherds, but many other breeds are involved. The biggest victims were children, accounting for 57% of the deaths. 10% of overall deaths were sleeping infants. A more surprising number is that over 75% of all dog attacks happened on the owner's property. And 18% were restrained dogs.

Yes. Like said, most of it happens with these breeds. I've been attacked by german shephard also. In his own yard too, fits the description perfectly . It was a bit scary I was a child then and it attacked me and I had one big bruise all over my thigh, because its mouth could actually bite my whole thigh back then.

Well trained german shephards though are very good dogs. About pit bulls and rottweilers, some people thinks they're the only real dogs and have huge personalities, I don't personally like them so much, I think they're ok, I just prefer other dogs.

But those numbers, I wouldn't say it's significant at all. It shows that few breeds are more likely to attack than others, and we should think why that is and how to prevent that more effectively, but as for dogs in general, I think that shows us nothing and tells nothing about dogs and how dangerous they are. About those breeds, I think it's notable that some attacks happen even though they're on leash by the owner (outside own property) and would attack someone and the owner was not able to control his/her dog. That's what we should think about and what to do about that. And at the end in those cases, the owner is responsible. The owner is responsible for their dogs activities.

Boris, yes in terms of certain breeds, I think when it comes to attack against kids, the pattern can be found. And that's something we should look into, I think we have looked into it and found why that is. But stories about killer dogs are not to be stereotyped with dogs in general. Don't be dog racist

We shouldn't be so worried about dogs attacking people as we should be to people attacking dogs
