	For Your Amusement: Some Super AI performing tricks Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

A picture thread for the AI doing good things, like ICSing, or eating fungus. These are Super-AI from Aldebaran
Notice the Aquatic Faction laying down bases like no tomorrow. Even the grey-faction (Peacemaker) is laying a road of seabases towards her enemy. Go AI, go!

Oh yeah, the game starts in 2300, so this in only 170 years in. Right when the AI starts going for Transcendence. Huge map.

Edit: More clarification. This is a game with all Super-AI fighting each other. I just stopped it every decade or so to check on their progress. And though these pets are from Aldebaran, the same can be done with Super-AI for Smac(x) in general. If you have any pics of the AI doing pretty well for themselves, tack them on. Sometimes they can surprise you.

Fungus Eating benefits are handy for the Planetlovers. What since they had massive ecodamage from 70 years in to the present.

Here's the Planetlover Research Department 170years into the game. They had all the luck getting the labs-increasing SPs. They are running a -1 economy though, knuckleheads! Guess they figure they don't need any more EC's or Labs, what with the wormbaiting they are doing via fungal pops.
By the time they got to transcendent thought they were getting 2 techs a turn (~190 years in)

And finally, a look at some of the production going on for the Planetlovers (oh, they are the dark-red colored dots on the map above). They quickly ran out of things to build with all the production from satellites and the +2 mineral SP (It's actually more like +50% minerals). They found making quantum planetbusters fun for awhile. Good thing I beefed up the Ascent to Transcendence to 10000 minerals

Mystery Food? Sounds very, very scientific. As for the pictures, very interesting, but honestly I like the stupid AI better.

I'm just poking fun at Commy's Spammage. No need for arguing this out here . This is for amusement purposes only. Don't try this at home...yadda...yadda...

On the other hand, yeah, there are some place-holder names that will probably be changed. Suggestions welcome over in the Aldebaran thread. On the third hand, I remember well that noone but Cybergod seemed to find my place-holder names very funny. I have always been stumped by that . I suppose a 'serious' strategy game like Smac might not be easy to play if every time you go to build an important Secret Project you find yourself saying 'Just three more turns and I will have built the Huge Gnome Project! Yeah!'. O.k. I get it. I will try to refrain from lapses into humor in the future (now there I go teasing Darsnan. I can't help myself )

I'm posting for a weird reason. I wanted to find this thread because I lost one of the pictures on my HDrive. Anyways, I went through the Gen/Help/Strategy pages and the thread did not appear anywhere. I looked three times. I did a search. I found the thread, but it's still not in the main forums. Weird. So I thought I'd post to see if this brings it back.

But really, who came up with the idea of a Sky Hydroponics Lab? That's almost sillier than anything we can think up. 'tis why I changed sattellites to underground laboratories in the mod. Growing food in space for eating on the ground? Weird.

Threads sometimes used to disappear in between pages (apparently a bug in the forum software which figures out where pages start) - they could be made to appear if you changed the number of threads to display per screen or if someone started a new thread, bumped an old one, etc. Don't know if that is still going on, but sounds like what you describe.

Ok I got it, and some ai stupidity, the pirates sent their first gun foil to go bombard a fungal tower... for 20 turns so far, with no damage done to it...

If you've never tried this, it's pretty fun to watch the AI battle each other. Games go fast. Ctrl-K to get the scenario editor from a regular game, then Shift-F3 to 'Switch Sides', but choose to 'Watch player', rather than play them. You then have to usually press end turn to let the games begin. Holding down the return key (or feeding it return keys with an external program loop) will keep the game going almost indefinately. On occasion the AI won't know what to do when a combat unit is in a city, and the return-key won't pass them by. Mostly though, it runs itself. -S

Kody has developped a program for CMN's whereby the CMN can change a a PBEM player's Faction into an AI Faction, if it is determined this is the best course for a PBEM. Is this what your asking about?

Ha, proof that the testers didn't test an orbital fight: I've killed 10 of his odps so far, and it reads -8/6 instead of 0/6.

Just discovered something annoying. If you place a bunker on a mag rail, and an enemy steps over it, It uses that units turn and says "captured bunker!".

Not Aldebaran, but just my first experiment in scattering boreholes accross the map.

I'm the Spartans.. Never even had one AI build sattelites before and now I've got a rampant Hive on my hands..
