	Turn 129 - 10 A.D.: THE END OF THE WORLD! Suffering from ads?

The anxious crowds of Castle Camelot watched the sundial as it apporached midnight, on Dec. 31, 1 B.C. How does a sundial approach midnight, one asks? We may never know... This question, and the question of what would happen at the end of the world, swirled around the nation. Bookies took bets on the outcome - 5:1 on it ending in general, 10:1 on the world ending in a fiery blaze, and 6757783215676753:1 on waking up the next day. The clocked ticked one more second, and....

They were still there.

And at least one lunatic (by the name of Cardinal Biggles) is now a trillionaire.

Newsflash!

The cause for the delay of the much-anticipated end of the world has been discovered! The Messiah has come. He was born in a stable, to a quite homely woman who, to tell the truth, is a bit of an ingrate, at that. Our finest cheesemakers have posited that this child will one day overthrow the yoke of Roman oppression and explore the universe, if only for a short while. Authorities are currently investigating the strange fungi on the cheese. In any case, we all celebrate this day and give thanks for our very existence to the babe called Brian.

In other news, a quite striking woman in a nearby stable also gave birth. No one really noticed, though.

Not a bit. I was thinking you might post the "End of the World" announcement first, and I'd piggyback it with this. Either way works for me, though.

Edit: Actually, I'll go ahead and work them both into one story and post it, giving credit where due of course.
