Planning, 1500bc Increase Your PM Length

I thought it best that I draw up a crude image showing us the future planning that is in store for our nation over the next 20 or so turns.

The following is not set in stone, so feel free to propose your own diagrams. The following image also does not say in what order things are to be done, it just shows what improvements should be built and what city sites should be built next.

IMO, we should build the cities in the following order:

Red
Purple
Blue

On this diagram, the lite blue square represent irrigation. The black squares are mines.

Of note, I believe we should build the road to horses and link up horses first before doing any of the irrigation.

I've only drawn mines on the bonus squares that most benefit from them. We obviously will add more mines than this later on.

Where are settlers comming from, other than Apolyton in 5 turns? Is Hypnos scheduled to build one after the Archer?

And what of the Iron plan?

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Yes, the lack of Iron on the map caught my attention too.

ALthough I imagine we will be building some Warriors to upgrade later anyway.

Apolyton will remain the settler pump. Hypnos will kick out workers when the pop gets too big.

This map doesn't include iron as we won't be linking it up in the next 20 turns. We'll have the horse-roading worker just continue NW to the iron with a Hoplite (Bellerophan) guarding him. Another worker will come in behind him and irrigate up to Horse City and perhaps help the road if we're falling behind schedule.

We probably need GK to give us a timeline on when the Iron will be linked up via colony.

Make that Bellerophon please.

Would it be wise to defer building the red city so not to increase rank corruption in most of the other cities?
(i.e. build the purple city first since it has better land)

I agree.

This would be an excellent point for team discussion. I had prefered the purple site as our next city, but I understand that the need to get horsemen into our army makes that red city important.

Anyhow, I invite others to post their thoughts.

Full PM-box? Change here!

Apolyton's settler is designated for the horse site so that we may get military production from the horses. Also, this is on the way to the iron, so we will have to go this route anyways with our roads.....

Nice outline. However, after this settler, there will probably not be any more cities for many turns in order to keep our schedule with PAL for our military operations. If, however, we switch our research goal from max research to cash, we can instead of having to build our swordsmen we can upgrade our warriors (at 60 gold each, it will be a big sum). This will require change on the part of how we have been going.

Iron will be connected with a colony, and PAL has indicated they will give us one of their barbarian slaves at the appropriate time.

I have to get the schedule fleshed out. I will attempt to do so between work and moving (it sucks when your friends all say they will help you move, then on the appointed day only one shows up, and she isn't strong enough to help move anything heavy....).

If we're going to be aggressive anytime soon, better build some military. Warrior, or Archer, perhaps?

Along with this please remember that PAL was very favorable on cheaply selling us a barb worker when the time was right. To go out and plop a colony on the Iron. I believe part of that is that we would share the iron with them at some point. Sounds like we need to get an idea of when we need to hook up the iron via colony and then start talking to PAL about this.

Yes. Sorry about the confusion.

The build queues should last to about turn 90. There is lots of variables that have been estimated in making the time however (growth, corruption, change of gov't, etc.) it is only approx. to turn 90 (the start of the war).
