Okay, my local DNS server has updated the server location... I worked in an office over the summer when they did this to the Mail server. It, er, drove the workers nuts.

Will the URL eventually work without the "www" prefix (as in just apolyton.net) like it used to? I preferred it that way...

Got spare money?

I'm not having any technical difficulties, just a few cosmetic problems. The widths of the colums on the main page are screwed up (the right column is wider than the left one. It should be the other way around). The lists of threads in each forum are currently only about half as wide as my browser window.
You may consider it a very good sign that I don't have anything more important than this to complain about.

Nobody can Access the forum through the main page! So now we must communicate our PBEM via email. For some reason we just cant post a reply. Also EVERY link the front page, does not work.Ads, Icons, Pictures, links all load at snails pace. None of the sub sections (CTP-Civ2) appear to even work. A screen pops up saying "Unable to find page" and stuff. Anyay hope you fix the problem!

Petty details all, but . . .

1) I am having tremendous difficulty reaching ACS. I have had to manuever cannily to get here. It usually takes some time. The usual links don't seem to be working. I haven't yet determined the pattern of faults.

2) The graphics; smileys, buttons, etc. in all threads created before the current refurbishing was begun don't appear now. The graphics in all the threads created on Saturday night or later do appear. The text is still there, just nothing else.

3) I got the soccer league thing too.

4) None of the aol links seem to function. Getting here has become like a detective story; one must ferret out the workings by trial-and-error.

Apologies that I don't have the technical language to more accurately describe the problems that I am seeing and with which I am dealing. All I know is that certain things are not working right.

Salutations,
Exile

A few things not mentioned, probably because they are too obvious to mention - but that's never stopped me before!

... If you don't see the graphics, the links aren't gonna load (this seems pretty axiomatic.)

... The broken replies work on neither AOL 4.0 or IE 5.5 for my W98 machine (I don't have Netscape or a Mac or Linux so I can't test those platforms.)

... Every thread posted before 9:00am on 3-31-2001 is inaccessable. Any thread dated later can be replied to. This applies to ALL the forums.

... Dial-up or DSL, it makes no difference.

... Oh, and the test.gamestats site didn't help. Sorry.

Someone might have reported this but

whenever I reply to athread, I can't see my reply after it refreshes like it used too, I can see new posts like one my MtG at about the same time(not there when I started to reply so posted in time in between)

Anyway when I reload I can see my reply but it is never there at first, doesnt' really matter but it's weird.

1. Can't post reply in some threads, such as the XCOM thread in the Other Games forum. Maybe it works for you, but not me. I am using Moz 0.8 by the way.

2. Intermittent problems with refreshing after posting replies. That is, sometimes I can't see what I have just posted. So far, I can fix the problem by forcing a reload. Update: that has just happened with my post in this thread.

On 800x600, IE5, threads are about twice as wide as my screen. It requires constant horizontal scrolling to read a thread. Ugh!

If it makes any difference, I came in via www.apolyton.net, clicked to Civlization II and then Forums.

Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

This didn't happen yesterday (at home) but it is today (at work), both machines are running IE 5.5.

When I am on the forum main page the little yellow light bulb is lit for most forums, and they won't unlight no matter how many times I hit refresh. When I go into a forum the folder icons are pink indicating unread messages and these can't be updated either.

Trying to fix the problem I hit the "delete all cookies" link on the preferences page, unfortunately, this did not help.
