I think the problem with that image is its a .bmp file. I'm seem to remember Netscape doesn't support .bmp

Slower than ACOL.

Ever since the upgrade, ths site has been extremely slow for me. To the point where I just won't post because of indefinite loading times. Maybe this is a China thing, but I haven't been able to read about other posters with similar experiences.

I might never get to read the response to this, if it gets through.

On the Spanish forum, a thread with the title "history of the Modern era", page three shows URL not found. This thread had the same problem a week ago with page two, and it was corrected. Now it has shown up again on page three. Please help.

Guys,
I'm a little hesitant to report what seems to be small problems, but if I don't, they might turn into bigger ones. It seems as if every time I try to come to the site from the AOL "go to the web" page, the first time I try, it results in a "site not found, etc." message. If I immediately try it again, I get here. That never used to happen prior to the upgrade (was it last weekend?). Also, there are times when the loading function within the site seems to slow way down. Sometimes it locks up and simply stops. When this stuff happens, I have to hit the back button and try it again. Usually, the 2nd time does the trick and doesn't take nearly as long, but again, this never happened before the upgrade.

Sorry I can't use more precise, technical language to describe these problems.

I do not know if this has been reported before, but just in case... The links at the ALD are unusable. Eveytime you click on a link, this message appears:

"Error including libraries: Can't locate /var/home2/civilization/web/cgi-bin/links/admin/db_utils.pl at /home/civilization-gamestats-com/Web/cgi-bin/links/review.cgi line 12.

Make sure they exist, permissions are set properly, and paths are set correctly."

I am encountering weird slowdowns. Sometimes, when I try to move from main page to forums, or from a particular forums to a thread, there is a marked slowdown. What normally takes ten seconds or less, takes several minutes to accomplish. Is this normal? What is happening?

I started getting this error today... http://www.apolyton.net no longer works, http://www.apolyton.net does work. At least for the forums. OTOH, I have been blocked from Apolyton by the Powers That Be on various occasions and on various ways already...

EDIT: Anti-complaint: But the coloured icons that tell which threads have new posts now work again .

The problem is likely just temporary. To find out more concretely where the slowdown is, perform a traceroute by typing "tracert apolyton.net" in an MS-DOS prompt.

OK, looks like my problem was only temporary.
