Hi, I'm back, sort of
What I was going through, was something, that dates back to the old SPDG1 days, when I was CP/DM. There was a couple of people, who were very outspoken as to me "taking over that team" and frankly, neither was that the case then nor even now. At that time, those things had unsettled (hurt) me quite a bit and I had almost left (at that time) because of it.
The Person(s) involved have, over time, made amends to me about the whole thing AND I had, way before they had even done that, forgiven them and even tried to work with them (or them with me). Yes, a team needs diversifed Opinions and Objectivity to be a team. And at that time, I actually wanted that element, working WITH me, to help me to keep my objectivity and to point out things that I should have known (or realized) AND to to (actually) help to KEEP me from becoming the all powerful monster that they had though about me. For everyone who knows about what I'm talking about, I actually didn;t take the Top position, mostly because I DIDN'T want it, but to also show, that I wasn;t that kind of person.
Fast forward to now...When I encounter the same kind of thing just resently. With everything else that was happening, I just couldn't take it any more. I shouldn't have blown up about it, but I had figured, that It was better to do that, than to start something else, in the forums, that I couldn;t recall and it would have been more damaging to the team, compaired to outright leaving.
So I left.
I then had several e-mail correspondences with several members. As H-E states, the team needs to do more, because no one person can do it themselves. And I certainly don't want to do that OR I wouldn;t even be a member of this team. I would just happly go, play my PBEM's and even do other things, if I was wanting sole control of something like that.
I do know, that a large majority of this team, is lurkers. Some of them don't even come into here, for days/weeks/months at a time. Some only come to vote on things, some come to see how we are doing. Sometimes, a few of them sometimes make a rare post or 2. All of these people, ARE the silent majority of our team. When it comes down to it, they are the ones who really make or break a decision, especially, when it's polled on. Sometimes, they do come out of Lurking status and say something, then go back to being silent.
Then we have another group of occasional posters, who only post about things that they feel strongly about AND/OR that they like to deal with (military plans, Domestic agendas, etc). They are the ones, who more or less, reflect the views of the silent majority.
And lastly, we have the small minority of members, who do most of the work. They post plans, participate in discussions/debate, present options & opinions and run most of the main team functions.
I know, that when I'm presenting a Plan of action, or point of view or other such things, that I'm not speaking solely to the others in the minority, but mostly to the silent majority. Because, when it comes down to it, they are the ones that are running the team.
Now, granted, we haven;t had a lot of polls and such recently. but then, with the speed of the game, they kind of haven't been nessesary. It really wasn;t that long ago, game time, when the end of the GCA war happened, when we had built our FP, when we had made our alliance with both CFC & CGN and that we had moved our Palace. But then, all of that has happened, over months of real time. It's hard to forget, that debates and such, done months ago, are finally coming to ingame fuition, but they are. And things that we decide now, will not really take place, for months further down the road (at the current game speed). It's actually, easy, for someone who makes a lot of posts, to see that, because of the game speed.

Anyways, lets see what happens for now.

. I'm actually surprised at all though; every time that I can remember something like this has happened in a DG the person has come back after a few days.
(unless I'm confusing yours with someone else's...).
