GWT has a few options as far as attempting to defend against our invasion...
A couple of things will be assumed for the sake of argument for this poll:
A. GWT does not have a significant stack of Ansars (5 or more) within range to attack our landing party on the turn it lands. But, they will be able to do so by the next turn (with maybe 25 or so); which is the turn after we sack Ruhrpott
B. GWT does not or will not have a significant (5 or more) Muskets in Ruhrpott by the time we attack it.
So, what will they do? Here's some choices they may have:
1. Bring their stack of available Ansar and anyother units in the area to defend Ruhrpott. They will use terrain bonus (15%), fortification bonus(50%), and a walled city bonus(50%) to increase their Ansars defense strength from 2 to 4.3 and hope to hold us off and thus save their FP since they do not yet see the full attacking force we have just off shore; They may see the ships, but may also assume that we used some sort of ship chaining to get the units there...
They do this while bring up another Ansar stack that was further away from the FP to help counter attack on the following turn.
Basically, they don't attack us on our landing. So, when we attack them it gives us War Weariness and War Happiness happens for them.
They may even disband the two cites to the North and South of our landing party in order to prevent us from using their roads against them further down the line and/or to prevent us from stealing their population, in the form of workers, to be brought back as slaves for APO.
2. GWT may, using a possible Palace prebuild it has for a wonder, build another FP near the current one. It would mean that GWT would abandon Ruhrpott and switch over to a FP build in the other city. It would assume that GWT would only do this if that other city were further away from our attacking forces and within range of them sending support to that city to be able to stop us before we were able to deduce where they have now re-built the FP.
Basically, they ignore our landing party, for one turn, build the FP in another location and wait for more troops to arrive to deal with our landing party. They may even disband the two cities to the North and South of our landing party in order to prevent us from using their roads against them further down the line and/or to prevent us from stealing their population, in the form of workers, to be brought back as slaves for APO.
3. They realize that they cannot stop the destruction of their FP and they do not have enough shields built up in any possible prebuilds to build another FP anywhere near the second core. So, they decide to "fold up camp."
They would disband any cities that APO could possibly attack and capture while bringing in forces to counter attack when they had sufficient numbers to do so. They wait till they have cleared the area of our invasion and go about rebuilding the cities and the FP that was detroyed. Hoping all the while that they have an opportunity to produce another GL and that all of their second core is not missing since the FP would have little effect on a missing 2nd core.
4. Your own scenario. Please specify.

The question is, do they know we know Ruhr is their FP? If they just think we're invading their western lands to generally hurt them, they have little reason to abandon Ruhr, especially if they have a wonder prebuild to switch to if it is attacked, and may worry about defending other cities.

Actually, the answer to the poll is probably: "Laugh"
