KeepRes=1 lets you play the game at whatever your screen resolution is. Very helpful for my 1152x864 settings (17" LCD).

and
WindowsFileBox=1

are my favourite

KeepRes=1 --> you can even play on special resolutions like my 1680x1050 (WXGA iirc)

WindowsFileBox=1 --> at last good file sorting possibilities, list of date, file manipulations when loading or saving, using folder-shortcuts, etc.

I trust these go to the conguests.ini? Not civilization.ini or something.

for conquests, you'll need conquests.ini, for civ3 vanilla the other one

Not nearly as gratifying, I'm sure, sabrewolf, but you helped me out with the filebox one, too. No more having to copy and paste the save filename when I change folders! Thanks.

EDIT: Not that it's a big deal by any means, but is there a way to keep the filebox on top of the game screen when it opens? I had to bring up the taskbar to get to it.

EDIT EDIT: Never mind. It only happens when I first load the game.

I’ve been caught out with the windows filebox, thinking the game has frozen while in the meantime the box is open in the background. Soon learnt though.

The KeepRes is great I play on a laptop with a 1920x1200 screen and forcing another resolution changes the screen res for all programmes which is a real pain in the a*se when you’re alt-tabing between outlook and Conquests while playing PBEM, as the outlook res becomes a mess. The ability to see more of the map on your screen is definitely a bonus.
