Other than that

Why? whats wrong with him - he looks pretty snoby/aristocratic to me

maybe its the style of 'painting' looking different to some of the other people in the pictures preceeding, so a continuity of style problem for you?

still i quite like that water painting look - it makes me think of the renaisance

Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

Actually, when I saw him, the first thing I thought was "yep, that's Baron von Helmsdenvoor" (one of the guys named in the event shown in the title of the text section)

That's just it, he still looks to real, too fotorealistic.
It's not bad or anything, just off with the atmosphere I get from the other pictures.

Take a look at the 'Eye Candy pt 2' thread - I think that the image now looks a lot more consistent with the overall style that I'm trying to create.

Whenever I have to use a human figure, I have to make do with either human photographs or the unit images that I have on file. Creating human figures in Bryce is workable, but it is a lot more work than I'm willing to do - and drawing human figures isn't something that I'm particularly good at in the first place...

The hard part is that I have to merge those images into a single Photoshop file and then use filters and shadowing to make them seamless, and it usually takes me several attempts to get it. And I usually have to see the image over a period of a couple of days to figure out just what isn't working.

My original plan was to have a watercolor effect on all of the main Interlude screens, and I may still go ahead with that plan because it would allow me a lot more leeway in creation. (The watercolor filter would go a long way to cover up any differences) But I'm really starting to like the look (I'm calling it 'saturated fantasy-realism') that can be achieved in Bryce and I am trying to hold that look in the merging process.
