	Newbee - and yet old Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

Hello All

This is my first subscripton to tihis page so apoloigise for eventually "funny" things.

Maybe inappropriate, but i i will present my self as a 44 old male with an interest in strategy games - by the way i also loves std/latin and riverdance - you have to move a little in between.

Primarily i have played SMAC(X), but the Incubaton - Wilderness missons have also given me seriously headeaches - with joy - btw does anywone know how to survive in hadrest mode ?


I have played SMAC(X) for several years but for unknown reasons i havent found this site before. I have used a couple of days to explore old messages and found that i i have leraned new things, but maybe also is able to contribute to other peoples problems.

I might have something to learn, but i have survived(and of course conquered) on the following strategy:

Huge (rand) - 70-90 sea - Thinker (at least).

1 former for each landabased city and 2 for sea - execpt 1 roadbuilder from the secondary city to prepare roads and env. for new cities- also every new city is expected to deliver two new CP's before doing anything else - gives some headeahce sometimes. Igore any threats from opp. unless if they actually stand in your backyard . Research is PRIMAY - check energy - keep it on zero + (occasionally on minus). Dont attack before chopper is avaialble and then only with units with max shield and weapon. If the opponent happens to have AAA then use missiles to pave the way.

Enough for now - expect to get other opinions.

Welcome Blackcat. Browse around. You will find lots of ideas and strategies you never thought of before. That's what happened to me.

But enough for now. This is a very supportive SMAC/X Community and which always welcomes new smac players.

There's plenty to find here on Apolyton. Just look through some of the old threads for general help, and if you have a specific question that you can't find answered, feel free to post it. Most of the people here are very welcoming and will be happy to answer your questions.

It sounds like you're a very solid player. I'd say you are ready to play on transcend, if you don't already. Also, if you have a strategy that you always stick to, try experimenting with others every once in a while. One of the great things about SMAC is that there are so many ways to play.
