They Want To Destroy Yankee Stadium!? Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations: Deluxe Edition

The bastards want to tear it down!!!

I was listening to Bloomburg interviewed on WABC, and he was saying it could happen by 2006! Details were sketchy, but the new stadium, built across the street would be smaller by 7,000 seats, but have plenty of ****ing luxury boxes.

That stadium should be on the register of historic sites -- not torn down!

I'm all for preserving historical sites (and I have no doubt Yankee Stadium qualifies) but you must have a use/purpose for the building. Sitting unused is not an option.

On a related note.....

Maple Leaf Gardens is to be a grocery store.....

I don't care who you root for...Yankee stadium is an icon. Tearing it down would be a crime. At the least they should make it a museum. My preference would be a refurb if it needs one...and GePap says it don't and that's good enough for me. Play Ball!

But...if that cannot be...

The ultimate baseball museum, where pilgrims the world over come to honor baseball, and an oldtimers game is played every week, and the all-stars come to play every year.
