I am surprised that as high as Brady went, that none of the NE WRs have been chosen. So the last pick of the 10th round is Dieon Branch and the 1st pick of the 11th round is RB DeShaun Foster.

It's mostly because Brady has this maddening quality to spread the ball around .

Oh no! Bad News for Reis!

In the latest catastrophe for the star-crossed Miami Dolphins, the team said late Friday night that wide receiver David Boston will miss the entire 2004 season after he suffered a knee injury earlier in the day during a practice with the Houston Texans.

Bad luck for the Fins... and Reis, you can replace the dude for another player whenever you come back online. I know you left me a list (and won't be around for a bit), but I'd figure you'd probably want to specifically draft a WR to replace Boston.

Kalius is still up, Reis just gets to butt in whenever he comes back online.... I just hope that you will give the same consideration to the person picking behind you as I gave to you.

Well, David Boston crashed and burned faster than I thought he might, and now Miami's even more screwed than it was before. Fortunately, since our esteemed Commish says I can take a supplemental pick to replace Boston, I'm not.

To replace Boston, I take: Jerry Porter, WR (OAK).

Hey, Boston just got hurt for the year. Whenever you get back, you can have a supplemental pick to replace Boston with whoever hasn't been picked! If it comes to your turn, instead of using your list, I'll just wait for you to make your two picks (one for that pick and the other to replace Boston).

That's what Imran wrote me. I interpret that to mean I can use it whenever.

Hm, I always have the FFZ rules in my head about these things, since we never discussed these things properly together.

Damn, Imran, when the hell did you decide this and not inform the league properly?!

If this goes, then I should have had the opportunity to replace Vick last year. This is utter bullshit right now. I know I was lenient on the Ricky Williams issue but this is an injury, nothing more and nothing less.

I took Boston in the other draft. Tough turnips there, tough turnips here.

Yea, I found it, mea culpa. I was mixed up with the BAPAY-regulations and the FFZ rules.

Obviously I still get rather pissed off about the Vick incident because it concerns reismark.

Understandble - especially since your situation involved your starting quarterback (a position where quality players are at more of a premium) while mine involves a wide receiver with starter potential I drafted as a reserve.

If it's because you were interested in drafting Porter, I'm willing to consider a trade. Imran gave me that much when he lost Ricky, and it's only fair I pass the favor on.

FWIW, I think if a drafted player gets injured in RL, it's just hard luck for the one who drafted him. If it happens within a round of drafting him (or some such standard), fine.

Now, I don't really want to make an issue of this, but Boston was drafted in the SIXTH ROUND!!! WTF, we just turn back the clock? i wouldn't even have the nerve to ask for such benificence.

The Rickey Williams thing was earth-shattering and much more "of the moment" than this. The sixth round was about 2 weeks ago fercrynoutloud.

Commissioner, please reconsider this. If you declines to do so, fine, you're the commish, but can we PLEASE have some CLEAR definition on this issue before we're adjudicating hamstrings and hangnails??

It's all well and good that we play a friendly game, no stakes but local honor and all that. But every game needs rules.

Why do we screw up the draft just because someone lost his 3rd string WR???? It's the 11th round of a 14 round draft and pickings are getting slim. Nothing against reismark, but the Michael Vick comment hits home for me.

Just where do you draw the line?

This ruling makes no sense.

What doesn't make sense?

If Boston was lost for 6-8 weeks, that would be a tough break for Reismark. No replacement player or anything else.

However, he was lost for the entire season, which makes the pick totally useless.

Besides, like you said, he was a reserve WR, if anybody is still picking starters this late into the draft they are screwed anyway.

Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

As far as the Michael Vick thing, I'm not so certain he was injured until the later rounds last year anyway.

Not only that, Reismark doesn't get to pick players that are already taken.

Although, I would have taken Porter if he had been available, after Slowwy's next BAPAY.......

Suffering from ads?

I say tough luck to reismark. He chose to have rights to David Boston. He still has rights to David Boston. Why should he get an extra pick? Makes no sense to me.

He should get 15 picks, full stop. No more no less, and if one of those players gets injured in training camp, tough luck.

Sure, except that the precedent has already been set.

I'm sticking to my guns though, and saying that getting extra picks because you got a dose of bad luck is a joke.
