Ok - I have a question. Let's assume fortyj's analysis comes back - and indicates that GWT did NOT play fair. What then?

I don't think thats going to be the case, but if it does come back that GWT did something _intentionally_ wrong, then I'd say its over.

There's no point in continuing in a game where our main opponent can't be trusted.

I'm of wervdon's opinion. What Bongo posted made it sound as if there was an honest mistake, if a bit of a lazy or incompetent one.

Wait for the findings of the ex-CDGers first.

1. Allow GWT the opportunity to defend itself to determine from their point of view what has occurred.
2. Discuss with CGN and CFC their positions
3. Resolve the problem by either:
-withdrawing from the game
-reparations in some form from GWT including the removal of all current leadership

Honestly, I don't see how "reparations" can help in a case like this. If they are forced to do something that gives us an advantage and we run with it and deal them a mortal blow, and go on to win, then its going to be perceived as less than "legit" even if they did cheat knowingly and it led to the reparations.

I just don't really see how we could recover from the largest power in the game being labelled a cheat and have a victory in this game mean anything. The reason we could keep going after the GCA stuff is that GCA for all intents and purposes has been a non-player for a long time.

Seriously we need to think about this.

E_T is gone, a lot of other people who have had significant contributions have sort of floated away and become barely active.

I realize we have all put a lot of time into this, one way or another but when is it time to call it quits?

When it stops being fun and starts becoming more like a job.

I think at least some of us are close to that. If GWT is being less than honorable (which I find hard to believe), I maybe at that point.

I heavily leaning toward #2. In terms of victory laurels, we focus on how we overcame our starting conditions become the/a dominant civ of the game. If our main competitor is unable to play fair, then they are unable to play fair.

If there is SOME way to resolve such a problem, however, then I suppose we COULD play on... I just think much of the spirit of the game would be lost. It would depend greatly on GWT's own humility to accept the consequences.

Generally, I agree with Arnelos. However, I do think there is only a very slight chance we would be able to play the game, and I wouldn't be surprised if GWT would continue to deny it after it was proven.

I voted, but the forum was too busy to post. I heavily lean towards #2 too, but I still highly doubt that GWT would cheat.
