	Baldar's Gate: Dark Alliance Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

I just got done trying out Baldar's Gate: Dark Alliance. I started up the game thinking "Finally I get to try out this game everyone says so much about". After about five minutes of actual play all I could think is "wow, what a dumb ****ing game".

So what is it that appeals to you guys in that game? Its nothing, all you do is run through a dungeon killing things to get money to buy better weapons and armor so you can go back into the dungeon to kill bigger things so you cangetmoremoneysoyoucanbuyabiggerswordtokillevenbi

Dark Alliance sucks. You should be playing Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 along with their expansions.

BG: DA is universally known as one of the worst games ever made on any platform, and a HUGE blemish on the BG name. Main reason Interplay went bust.

AVOID THIS CRAP LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Well it is the formula that made Diablo a big seller. Ask Diablo fans.

i liked it. It never pretended to be an rpg on the scale of BG.

It's a fun hack and slash, don't look any deeper than that and you wont get upset.

I wouldn't think it would be bad if they did the same to warcraft.

Just as it isn't wrong to try to turn warcraft into an RPG.


If you don't see anything wrong with diablo, then I don't think you can see anything wrong with dark alliance...other than to get upset because the name BG is attached to it and that somehow taints the reputation of BG...which i dont buy either.

Diablo2 was cool . sometimes mindless hack and slash is fun.

But everyone is so obsessed with getting the best equipment and levelling up. No one plays just to have fun it seems. I have never had an uber character. But I enjoyed it.

BGA is good so long as you only look for a simple hack and slash in it. It's fun to play two-player, but folks would need friends to do that. DA 2 is out now also, and it's supposed to have a lot more to do and more classes. General improvements found in any sequel.

What are you talking about? Dark Alliance is fun because of two-player almost strictly. You get to hack & slash with a friend through hordes of enemies of terror! It's hardly a bad game, unless you want to say all Diablo-clones are bad. And they barely advertised the "Baldur's Gate name" to tarnish, Jamski- I always called it plain ol' Dark Alliance at least.

If you ever play Champions of Norrath, it's flagrantly clear that the same development studio made that as Dark Alliance. (Weirdly enough, Dark Alliance II was done by different people.)

I don't mind hack and slash (I love Dynasty Warriors 3) but BGA was a big disappointment.

I found the ending to be too easy. After all of those hard work, I was expecting the final boss to be uberdifficult but I didn't even take a hit from him, I just went up next to him with my dwarf and hacked at him and boom he died.

Nah, sorry...I don't have too much interest in WoW so I haven't been following it at all. Sorry. I'd be willing to point out any flaws in Imran's comments about it though.

From reading all the beta test reports I'd say there's a good chance it's going to be a great game. I'll certainly be giving it a whirl when it comes out.

WOW looks great. I don't have much hope for the quests though. I think it will be a lot like Diablo and be very hack and slash. And as I mentioned before, some of the graphics look too cartoony for me.

But there's a good chance I'll get this game. I like Diablo, but I have never played Warcraft or starcraft. I'll see if I can play it on someone else's computer before I commit to buy.

True, but though games had nothing like as extensive a beta as WoW. Plus Blizzard are top tier.........they have earnt my belief it will be good.

Wont be one since it is MMORPG. That doesn't bother me though, since it is Blizzard. I'll probably still wait to see how they handle release, and the state of the game. Fortunately they always wait until it is ready before releasing games, though there were some rumours about Vivendi pressuring them, so better safe than sorry.
