	News Articles Support Apolyton, buy Alpha Centauri

MarkG has been hinting its a while since we posted a news article. The last time was march.

Doing that kind of thing is important for the site, and MarkG has been VERY supportive getting us this private forum, and supporting changes to mod powrZ and authorization powrZ.

A good one to start us out would be a short article about Big Frees election.

Would someone like to do that?

Also can someone get with UnO and maybe get the Messenger back up and running?

Lessee... BF's election and.... anything else? I'm sure I can collaborate with someone on a completely generic sort of thing like AdrianHon's for the PtW ISDG from some while back.

A sort of ' typical day in the life of the Poly team's playing of the turn' thing. Received from PAL, orders already written up, discussed a little and played in chat, screenies posted along with report, save sent to BAT, waiting breathlessly for the next save... that sort of thing. Except hopefully a bit more interesting and roleplay-like.

Sound good?

Sounds darn good to me.

In my PM I indicated that BF and Togas and Oct_X were counsuls.

In his reply he said OK and BTW you guys should do a news item and since when is BF a consul?

I replied again and said well just yesterday

He replied, it sounds like news to me.

So he woulkd really like a news item and after 5 months, I think thats the least we can do for him

Team Apolyton Battles On (working title)

Team Apolyton, competing in the Civ3 Conquests Inter-Site Democracy Game, continues. We apoligize for the lack of updates to the public, given that we're concentrated on winning the game.

We can, though, inform you as to our general situation, as of the curent save date, 1325 B.C.

On August 18, Apolytonians elected BigFree to serve for a term of three months as a consul, one of the trio of leaders and turnplayers of Apolyton. BigFree joins veteran Consuls Togas and Octavian X, both of whom have served since the beginning of ths game. Deputy Consul Kloreep fills in when one of the three despots just has to take a vacation on the State Vacation Curragh.

The Apolytonian government also consists of several Ministers, who report directly to the consuls: Minister of the Interior GodKing and his Deputy Minister krill keep the cities and workers in order; Minister of Defense/Supreme Military Command/Warmonger Extraordinare UberKruX commands the nation's forces; Minister and Deputy of Foreign Affairs conmcb25 and Beta (respectively) keep in touch with our rivals, and Minister of Information Kloreep ensures that we actually know that these people are in our government.

That is, of course, all we can tell you. The only way to can learn more is to acutally join us. Drop by our sign-up thread for more details.

...although not without a fight, as spirited and enthusiastic challengers contest every election.

That shows up that there is has been enough interest to have contested elections, something sorely lacking at the moment in DGs.
