To those of you who haven't posted for a long time:
There's been a complete lack of posts from several of the dukes for the past few weeks. Some have also not responded to my email queries over the same timespan. I hope its just that you are taking long vacations or whatever and didn't think to let us know. If you are tied up by work or other commitments, please let us know, so we can plan around the absence. Problems are going to come up from Real Life that are going to sideline some of us, including possibly me, for long stretches. We just have to deal with that as part of our being an amateur project. However, If you are sidelined and can't do your Clash job, you've got to let us know so the rest of us can plan around it. Without good communication progress will be much slower. If I haven't heard from those of you who have disappeared by the 31st of July I will have to take over your area as best as I can , and try to find a replacement . (Manu and Blade Runner let the group know that they were going to be out for extended periods of time so this deadline doesn't apply to them.)
For those who have still been around occasionally, are you making any progress? I have to admit mine has not been astonishing recently, but I'm fairly close to finishing off the econ model. Is there anything I can do to help if you're in a rut in your design or other position? Again Communication is essential, please let us know where you are.
Regards,
Mark

Crrrreeeeaaakkkk......
Man, that rust is thick! Ahh, yes, where were we?? Clash of Who?? Diplomacy Model, that's right...it all comes back to me now! Um, yeah...the short version....err comin' right up....I've been slaving away on it for weeks now...or is that minutes, it's so hard to tell?
All kidding aside, I haven't started to gin up a "Reader's Digest" version yet. I'll take a look tomorrow and make some suggestions. As for the military model, I really haven't been much help. But between, Druid, you, & Diodorus, it looks like there's more than enough for an Alpha... The differences of opinion with respect to level of detail probably are best worked out at that level anyway.
As for my availability, the next 5 weeks are going to be pretty ragged. Out of town from 7/28-8/4, and again 8/14-8/28. After that, things should get a bit more more settled.
Congrats on the wedding Manu! I'd say that's a pretty good reason to have your attention focused elsewhere!

Work (!).... process control engineering contract stuff.... no time.... arrggh
That and my so far futile attempts to get Linux running on my system have eaten up my free time completely.
I have a ~80% completed GP package going, but I haven't looked at Map AI for ages.
I won't really be free again until September when I leave work to go back to University.

Mark:
I'll let you have all my Map AI stuff as soon as I've found it....
I've thrown everything from my HDD onto Zip disks while I play around with Linux partitions etc.
Hopefully my system will be up again soon, with Linux happily running as my second OS. You're welcome to my code once that happens.
Jim
