Volunteer to take over for dead PBEMers Suffering from ads?

The Census and 'Bring Out Your Dead' threads are an excellent idea. It got me thinking also - I have several PBEMs that are effectively dead for an indeterminate period of time (around a month already) due to one or two particular posters having vanished. So, since my inbox seems a PBEM only every week or so now, I wanted to volunteer for any PBEMs that may be in danger of lapsing due to one person, that I may take their spot and try to keep the fun going for all of us. This thread is a lot easier than searching through all the other ones looking for places where there are inactive players.

Maybe others with the same idea can post here too...?
I'm not organised enough ATM to make a full-fledged permanent volunteer thread or anything, and it looks like no-one uses the topped threads we have, so I thought why not start a new short-term one whilst the issue is in everyones' minds?

Anywhere I can fit in? I may not be able to play at a certain time all the time, but I can always play within a day or so, and I have a laptop with Civ on it so even when I'm overseas I have been able to sally forth. I could easily handle several more PBEMS than I do ATM. I am in NZ, so my likeliest playing time is 0600-1400 GMT.

Or, I'm certainly not averse to new games either! I've been at Poly constantly for the nearly 3 years since I joined, and my PC and number of CivGroup icons should prove I am active enough, if anyone is worried about that.

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

Hmm, could you take over for that Master Zen guy in IDG Blue...oh wait you're in that one already. How about taking over for Master Zen in Seafaring...crap you're in that one too.

I think we have a winner of who needs to pass on the saves in each of those two games.

(though to be fair, this last hold-up in Seafaring wasn't MZ ).

MZ is not very reliable for PBEM's. I think he gets bored easily. Plus it seems likes he refuses to post in the turn sent threads; I know how he hates to inflate his PC..

I think MZ killed one of the C3C Tournament games (#5?). You might want to dig up the turn thread for that one, MWIA.

MWIA - how about Jane?? Looks like we may need a replacement - and it is a great game idea. Check the thread.

I'm reviving this, as I've not had any of my 7 or 8 PBEMs appear in the last 3 days. Paddy had a week off and for some reason the other games I am in that don't have him decided to stop.

So, anything I can do? I'm seriously jonesing for a PBEM here....
