SMAC Alternate Color Patch Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

Has anyone here used the SMAC Alternate Color Patch? If so what are your opinions? What does it look like and is it worth trying out?

All I know is that it's supposed to be for colorblind people, I'm pretty sure.

My guess there is it certainly isn't designed to look good to color seeing people.

can't be as bad as the original graphics can they?

my only beef is it sems too dark and gloomy. It doesn't look like it does in that video for one of the SP's. The one where they are flying over fungus fields and such.

I installed it, and it looked very ugly (I am not Red-Green Colourbind, which the patch is made for, BTW)
