Seventh base location? Remove this text

AFAIK it is more or less generally accepted that we'll try to build a crater base and a western coastal base in the not-so-far future. However now the question has risen what base we should establish first with the CP soon complete in Sector Craterwest: the coastal or crater one? Hence this poll.

Here's a comparison of the suggested base sites:

Green crater site:

Base on 2-2-2 tile, working a 2-2-1 tile
=> 4-4-3 nut-min-energy production, with one energy lost to inefficiency => 4-4-2

Travel time one turn.

Yellow coastal site:

Base on 2-1-2 tile, working a 2-1-1 (rolling rainy river) or 2-2-0 (farmed crater) tile
Here too one energy will be lost, so this means 4-2-2 or 4-3-1 nut-min-ene production.

Travel time would be three or four turns.

In other words, the green crater option would be most productive. However the yellow option base has an advantage that cannot be easily expressed in numbers: it is coastal. This means we could build a laser foil or transport as first item and start exploring and popping pods seven turns sooner (7 turns: production time for a next CP from SC3).

A question without an obvious answer, so the choice is yours: more immediate production or faster exploration?

(I've set the voting limit to five days.)

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

Might I add one more advantage for the green proposal: one roaded tile in the middle of the crater would connect all three crater bases together.

Also, the faster we get a CP built next to that pod, the faster we can safetly pop it, and the sooner we can reap its benefits.

Edit: Here's another idea: If we go for the green proposal, that would give us time to pre-road the way to the yellow proposal, so that when the next CP is produced, that CP's transit to the yellow base site from SC3 would only be 1 turn. (On it's second turn, the CP would still have 1/3 of a movement point left, so it could be founded that turn. Whereas, if we went for the yellow base site now, it would take 3-4 turns to move the CP to the yellow base site.)

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

My uninformed and non-expert opinion would be the crater as well.
